With all the posts of cheap shoes I thought I would have a look around. These shoes are reasonable and made the best way shoes should be made. They are Goodyear Welted Leather Soles and uppers for a cracking price. I know they are not Loake but they are not anywhere near like some of the rubbish posted on here. It also allows you to order in different sizes so you can share the cost with a friend and pay £30 each and it's free postage. I am sure you will let me know what you think of this deal!

About Oxford Shoes
The Oxford shoe is a style of handmade leather shoes with enclosed lacing. Mens Oxford shoes are traditionally constructed of leather and were historically rather plain. The shoes originally appeared in Scotland and Ireland, where they are occasionally called Balmorals. The design of the shoe may include some small ornamentation or perforations. (From Wikipedia).

Look good, thanks

Many other styles at same price so really good spot, but are they quality & woth the extra compared to say Clarks?

Looks good. I am always suspicious when there is not 1 bad or even luke warm review. Surely not everyone felt energetic and inspired enough to sing praises? Nonetheless, Heat added. Thank you to the poster.

Just bought two pairs but could find no option for free delivery!

Look and sound very similar to Samuel Windsor shoes. I have bought several pairs of Samuel Windsor shoes and boots, all great and extremely good value.

The cost of re-soling and heeling shoes is £35 plus, so it's a no brainier buying a couple of brand new pairs cheaper than the price of re- shodding them.

looking nice

Calf leather is the best for comfort, flexibility and softness.cracking deal.superb quality shoes!

you can get these and many others on thier website good deals wicked shoes!!

my word, if you think the Samuel Windsor shoes are good quality you are sadly mistaken. A decent shoe and a decent sole will last you far longer. IMO These will loose their shape and look terrible in no time. Especially if you actually walk in them (eg, a small foot commute as opposed to the car>lift>desk lardos).

I said they wasn't Loake in my description...I said decent shoes for the price.

I bought some of these for my ventriloquist dummy. What a dapper fellow he is!

My dad is actually an agent for Loake shoes. He is absolutely mortified whenever he sees these offers purporting to offer true goodyear welted shoes for £25 a pop.
Don't expect quality at this price point. Take a look at loake.co.uk, and see just what it takes to make a proper pair of goodyear welted shoes.
(I have multiple pairs of Loake shoes...many of which are more than 10 years old. Judging by their lack of wear, I honestly believe that quality shoes can last a lifetime)

You're a good man! Loake are having a tremendous few years - demand is constantly outstripping supply - particularly in the middle and far east. Nothing nicer than a quality pair of shoes! It is still owned by the same family too.

IMO Cheap shoes are a false economy if you wear them with any sort of regularity.

I thought you get 2 shoes anyway?
Unbelievable that companys are advertising that i you buy a left shoe you get the right one free!
Suppose it's good for amputees, they maybe able to request another of the same for free?

Giving heat, because any leather upper leather sole shoe for £30 is a deal, unless they are really poor.

My guess is they will be similar quality to a standard grade Samuel Windsor shoe, which are usually on sale at two pairs for £70. They (Samuel Windsor) are probably worth £35, but not much more. These shoes, like Samuel Windsor, are not available in a range of widths (and I find the standard 'F' too narrow.)

I also like Loake shoes, purchasing a 'G' fitting, and aiming never to pay more than £70 per pair, buying new on eBay, or when Barratt's really cut their prices to the bone.

My tuppence worth? -- These shoes will be worth the money - I also feel Loakes are worth twice that.

a pair is 39.99 so how is 59.98 BOGOFF?

Despite all the love Loakes are getting here, I bought a pair for £120 and was hugely disappointed. They never softened and always pinched when I wore them and after getting them wet once (what to do, I live in England?!), the soles expanded and extended past the edge of the shoe. Never has that happened with a pair of £30-60 shoes from M&S (my usual level). Given that re-soling is about the price of a new pair from M&S, I ended up dumping the Loakes. A false economy buying cheap shoes? Not by my count.

Just bought 2 pairs , different styles , seems a good deal ?

bought a pair of Loakes from cross green car boot in 1991 brand new in the box for £14 ,at that time you could have bought wmd's there anything went ,anyhow 3 leather resoles later the shoes still look brand new and with hindsight would have paid full price for theese, think the bloke selling them wanted £18 at first

Loakes vary tremendously in quality - some are poorly finished and look cheap. I tend to hunt around for as-new s/h bargains on ebay and charity shops and usually come up with things like Cheaney, Burberry (alas no more), Crocket and Jones, Churches, etc. I don't spend more than £40 a pair a a rule. These are superb quality. However, the posting - cold I'm afraid. I wondered about trying a pair but looking at the photos on their website they couldn't even find pairs to photograph that didn't have poor stitching to the soles (see the pair with Dainite soles for an example).

I haven't heard anything good about this company, best you do some research before buying...
