Thanks for posting OP

I've used this deal a couple of times in the past, great company to deal with, even with after sales. I had an issue with a nose pad and they sent out a pre paid Jiffy bag for me to return the glasses. Heat added.

Great deal, but ...... if you use discount code : PAYDAY20 it brings the price down even further to £15.20!! (I've just tested it).

I've added this info to the OP.

This is obviously a great deal. I need to understand something first. I am new to wearing glasses, I need them for driving and I have only been driving two years and have had only one eye test. How do I know what type of lense to get, or are these just for reading and so on?

Be wary, I like the company and they have some great deals (posted this week on here) but this £15.20 offer is only;

"Customers can pick from the two-for-one range with ‘Cowboy’, ‘Prague’ and ‘Daisy’ frames (all usually £55) on offer"

Make sure you go onto their website and look at this frames. In my opinion they look super cheap - so can understand why they have tagged in GroupOn to shift stock.

I managed to get the £27 offer glasses and the frames are pretty smart looking (IMHO) and compare heavily to any of the designer brands I looked at SpecSavers (etc etc).

When placing an order on the GlassesDirect website, theres 3 lens choices, one of which is Driving (I think the other two are Everyday and VDU Use - off the top of my head).

So they will take that into account when you choose the lens - then enter your prescription.

Thanks for answering. Does this mean prescription number, as in prescription from my Doctor?

Great deal. Unfortunately only just got some new glasses already.

So basically you get a £55 voucher to spend on anything. There are plenty of 2for1 frames for £55 so really you're spoilt for choice. Be aware that extra coating like scratch resistance cost extra.

Its they very main body text under "The Deal"

The Deal
Spectacled shoppers can benefit from two new pairs of glasses courtesy of Glasses Direct. Customers can pick from the two-for-one range with ‘Cowboy’, ‘Prague’ and ‘Daisy’ frames (all usually £55) on offer. Alternatively, the £55 can be spent towards designer brand frames such as Duck and Cover (£95), Scout (£75) and even John Lennon antiques (£125). Single vision prescription lenses which are basic and uncoated are included with all eyewear. Bifocal lenses are available for an additional £30 and varifocals for £70. Thinner lenses, tints and coatings can also be offered with extra cost.

It means your full prescription from your Optician.

They'll be all the boxes to fill out (per eye) and its Cylinder, Axis etc etc

With most firms, you have to send them the prescription (as proof)

This place just asks you to fill out the prescription, then tick a box to say its legit.

always buy uv resistant lenses, even if i have to pay extra

I cant see any option to pay with "groupon voucher" at checkout........anyone know why?

Says any 2 for 55 frames? I actually have a box of them here on home trial that arrived yesterday, they seem very well made. I guess they make their money on the lens packages?

Interesting comment. A UV filter on sunglasses is a must. Beyond that it has limited use.

I did this deal a couple of years back, although they're pretty good glasses, by the time you add on the coatings and extras, I found they were no cheaper than the supermarkets offering buy 1 get one half price, type deals.

TBH I'm only buying these as spares, I have a decent set with all the coatings etc. already and want some cheap sunglasses that I don't mind damaging.

Ordered. Thanks.

At the top of your groupon voucher is a code that starts GP (the groupon code), enter this where you can apply a voucher. This deal is good if you want standard lenses (as I just ordered), but if you want any coatings or lens upgrades you are probably better off using the code 4ONE which gives you 50% off the whole order.

Thanks Tek M, i rang them up and they explained where to put Groupon code but I already had 4ONE code in place......so it worked out better not to use Groupon!!!!

I have bought 4 pairs from them over the last week or so. First 2 I got were a pair of Bench and a pair of Monsoon which were just over £47 for both pairs delivered. I then found the Groupon offer and bought 2 more pairs; one of which was a pair of sunglasses- these worked out at £33.94 delivered. I always go for the budget lenses and find them fine and I am not careful with my glasses! They get sat on, my reading glasses get thrown in the bottom of my bag and I am forever falling asleep with them on and none of them have scratched. By buying the basic lenses means I can have more pairs
