You can get two pairs of glasses or prescription sunnies (normal specs with free tints) for £17 delivered, if you use our MSE Blagged code MSE17SUMMER on top of two existing Glasses Direct* offers before 11.59pm on Mon 7 Aug.

Here's what to do:

1. 2for1 on prescription glasses £49 or over. Glasses Direct has a range of frames priced from £49, which are currently on a 2for1 offer*, so you get the cheapest free. Once you pick your frames (Boutique frames are excluded), you'll be asked to choose your lens package. If you don't want any extras such as scratch-resistant coatings, you can avoid the extra costs by clicking on 'continue with basic lenses'.

2. Free sunglasses dark UV tint for one or both your specs (if you want it). Select the dark tint in brown, green or grey for free (norm £10) until Mon 7 Aug. Other types of tint such as polarised or transition are not included in the offer. Glasses Direct has told us orders of tinted glasses may take up to two weeks - something to consider if you're buying them for your holiday.

3. Code gets £32 off & free delivery. After adding the second pair to your basket, you can either enter your prescription or opt to send it later. Then use the code MSE17SUMMER at the checkout by 11.59pm on Mon 7 Aug to get an extra £32 off ANY glasses where individual frames cost £49 or more (before the 2for1 discount). It's not valid when you spend £49 or more on several cheaper frames. Delivery is free with the code (normally £3.95). If you copy and paste the code, make sure there are no spaces either side of it as this can prevent it from working. If you're still having difficulty, try clearing your cookies and starting again.

Combining these offers could get you two pairs of glasses or prescription sunglasses for just £17, plus free delivery. What's more, the second pair doesn't have to be the same prescription as the first, so you could get one for yourself and one for someone else.

It's worth noting that if you need bifocal lenses you'll have to pay an extra £30, and it's an extra £49 for varifocals.

This deal won't work on very strong prescriptions

Orders for very strong prescriptions are excluded, such as when the combined SPH and CYL is greater than +/-8.00, when the CYL is over +/-4.00, if there is more than a 5.00D difference between each eye or if the prism correction is over 4.00 in any direction.

Free eye tests

If your prescription is out of date, check out our Free Eye Tests page for the latest deals.

So I take it you can't do the 7 day home trial with this because the frames would not arrive or be returned to them before the 7th of August?

you might be able to get frames on trial (without prescription lenses), then order if you like them before the code expires.
but they do have a policy of return the glasses for a refund for whatever reason.
or you should try out their frames every so often, and wait for the code to appear again.
Excellent. Need some proper reading glasses. The non-prescription Poundland ones can't be doing my eyes any good. Have booked a free eye test at Tesco for this Saturday.
Great, thanks Radzy, I ordered Stan.

UPDATE:

I ordered Wednesday, they made and shipped them on Thursday and I received them today - Friday!
They are just great too; very well done Glasses Direct!

Rimless specs are always so expensive
Is the extra 12£ coating worth doing? Anyone purchased from this company thoughts?

I've bought from this company before, got prescription sunglasses and regular and have bought both with and without coatings and I've seen no difference. Unless you plan on dropping them or being in an environment that hazardous I wouldn't recommend the coating.
Thanks for your reply
Nice one, cheers

I've had glasses from glasses direct with and without the coating and I've noticed a decent improvement on reducing reflection/glare from using on PC/driving with the coating.

can we get the progressive lenses as well?
Hmmm not sure what I am doing wrong - pick 2 for £49 - after picking cheapest lenses at £10

=> £49+£49+£10+10 - £49 -£32 = £37
Sorry just worked it out - need the to apply the basic lenses which are hidden away.....
Dealio ordered - get my eye test over weekend then update with my prescription
Ordered thanks
ordered 2 last night - £41 with the silver lens package - anti glare is a must, specs are terrible otherwise with glare.

got an email today asking me to send a pic with a debit card on my forehead so that they can take a scaled measurement of my PD, LOL. I measured it (well my mrs did,) with a PD ruler which id have thought is more accurate.

Ordered from these a few weeks back for my husband absolutely great, ordered the Sunday, delivered by the Thursday! Great price and really lovely quality.
Thank you for this, my very skeptical husband now has to live up to his promise of "If two pairs of glasses turn up in the post I will...."

THANK YOU!!!! I've spent less than £40 this year from here on 4 pairs now inc two sunnies. Bargain.
Anyone had their order delivered? Ordered on the 3rd still nothing yet....
Is the mse code expires? Tried it and nothing seems to happen but ops post implies it's the 2 for £49 offer that expires on 7th

Surprising...thats what i wss expecting.

Iv had about 6 emails now telling me my glasses are now in the lab etc...
Ordered arrived!

Arms on one pair of glasses are totally splayed out....pretty sure that aint normal. Be nice if they cleaned the lenses before shipping. Mine were very grubby.

Think il stick to goggles4u next time.
