520g and 2 trouts means 260g each roughly which is less than 1/2lb when you take off the ice and packaging. I realise these must be farmed trout fed on pellets but even so they are still tiddlers and you wouldn't catch me weighing one in.

It's £1.25 for 2 whole trout. What were you expecting - 10lbs worth of cod?

Call me fussy, but do these have bones?
Love fish, but hate the wee bones you get in various fish sometimes.

EDIT: Come to think of it, its two trout & not fillets or anything. Probably got some bones then!

Fussy!

Good price, but I got so much salmon and cods on offer recently - this would be too much...
Other should enjoy, heat added

Here you are fussy person

"As a group, trout are somewhat bony, but the flesh is generally considered to be tasty. The flavor of the flesh is heavily influenced by the diet of the fish. For example, trout that have been feeding on crustaceans tend to be more flavorful than those feeding primarily on insect life. Additionally, they provide a good fight when caught with a hook and line, and are sought after recreationally. Because of their popularity, trout are often raised on fish farms and planted into heavily fished waters, in an effort to mask the effects of overfishing. While they can be caught with a normal rod and reel, fly fishing is a distinctive method developed primarily for trout, and now extended to other species. Farmed trout and char are also sold commercially as food fish.

According to the British Nutrition Foundation, trout contain one of the lowest amounts of dioxins (a type of environmental contaminant) of all oily fishes.[4]"

Ok maybe I didn't explain my point very well a tiddler is a small immature fish which if you caught it you would throw it back into the river for it to mature a bit. These packs have 2 very small trout in them, you could compare it to eating a 2 week old chick. No I wouldn't expect 10lbs (4530g) in a 520g pack unless they were packed in like sardines.

Imagine a fish having bones! How inconsiderate of the bar stewards!

TIP: Once the fish is cooked, don't munch into it like a fish finger as thats when you get a mouthful of bones. Slide the flesh off from spine outwards. Bingo no bones.

I just bought a few of these.
Opened up and the fish are a reasonable size. Okay, not as big as the 2 trout packs in Sainsburys etc. But enough for a meal. I'll be going back to stock up on some more.
Didn't use the packet of seasoning though as it was very salty. Even though salt isn't mentioned in the ingredients.

get fish reduced to clear at Morrisons!
