How many years before they are tall enough to flower? 7 cm sounds very small.

Hey, I appreciate that - and I would normally try to get a reduced bargain at a garden center rather then get these free offers (you get a bigger plant and you get to choose it) however these would be great for training or bonsia'ing.
Aldi will have flowering ones in on Thursday.

Fair enough
Ican't find the aldi ones either? I think the 7cm bit with this offer is the actual size of the pot?
If buying a new wisteria, always choose one that has been grown from cuttings or by grafting. Seed raised wisterias flower less reliably, and also take longer to flower. Grafted plants can be detected by the visible bulge of the graft union near the base of the stem. Named cultivars are almost always grafted, whereas species plants may not be. Buy a Wisteria plant in the spring which is in flower or with flower buds and at least you know it can flower.
The aldi ones are £10 thou.

My next best offer is you can get a large - 2/3 whip 1.5-2meters tall named variety in b&q for £16. They had black dragon (dark purple), something lace (white/purple) - not the ordinary ones you normally get.
