"Coach travel is generally seen as a slow way to get around and Sn-ap says this market has 'been long dominated by slow moving incumbents"

Luxury or not in most city's you are going to be slow moving
I've checked the article on thisismoney. I've paid £2.50 return on Megabus to go from London to Cardiff on very comfortable coaches and still cheaper than sn-ap.
I’ve used Sn-ap 4 times & each time it’s taken way longer than National Express or Megabus due to the amount of stops added. If not in a hurry it’s fine but each time it’s been at least 45 min to an hour later than stated. Coaches have been smarter ones with tables to coaches just like regular ones used by the other companies.

Obviously free is good. But watch out after you book as many other stops can be added. Some may work out better for you though they have failed to mention them each time so can make it difficult to utilise them but adds extra time to journey.

Not as regular services as other companies but you can request a date & time to suit and see if others want the same journey. Or just check for definite dates & times to make sure the journey is certain. It’s fine if cheaper than other companies when not in a hurry. The more competition the better for customers.

So, having read the article, it's actually nothing like Uber (not that that's a bad thing).

I was thinking more of the dodgy employment and business practices ...

Megabus

But with the advantage of not having to put any money in the Souters' overstuffed pockets.
Thanks!
