I purchased this a few days ago at £275. Seems pretty reliable right now, although the wireless range between the base unit and extenders wasn't as great as I was hoping for. More stable than the powerline + wifi extenders that preceded this however!
Good price compared to normal but I think you of don't need the mesh you may be better off with a edgerouter x and a uap nano hd.
Will this stay on my regular IP range?. And will this get it's own up address from my router so I can dial in the console ?.

I need all my wifi and Lan devices on one IP range as I need them to.have access to my NAS.

Yeah I literally just set this up, the WiFi range doesn't seem to be as good as I thought either, still it's managed to cover 3 floors and up until end of my garden. May have been better to go with the uap-ac-lite extenders

You’d usually put your isp provided router into modem mode and then use this as your primary router linking everything up to it. When you set it up you can give it the IP you want as well as assigning one to your NAS

Ok so modem mode on the router and router still serving IPs via DHCP?

Yes. Or you can Indeed do it the other way round (i.e. keeping your ISP's router to do the DHCP and setting this up in bridge mode to use it as a WiFi access point only).

Hi
Do the two module / extender parts have LAN ports?
Or just the base unit?

Thanks
If you live in close proximity to others, I would 100% recommend an AX router. I had so many channels shared by all the other routers near me, my signal was full but speed was terrible. Now on AX, range and speed is amazing 😄

Actually went for the new Xiaomi AX1800. Highly recommend.

I’ve set these up at three sites now and the total coverage is very good but the distance the devices can be installed apart from one another was not as great as I had expected.

These were large houses/gardens with no neighbouring signals so in some cases I had to switch the mesh band to 2.4Ghz to better penetrate the walls then the signal changed from too low to “good”.

They are just mains powered extenders - no other ports to my knowledge.

Your client devices need ax/wifi6 too though don't they so might not benefit everyone like it has you. At best most people will have an iPhone 11 device and that's it!
Very true, it will depend on the client devices. I think as this is designed for gamers, if your looking to get the best wi-fi speeds on pc/laptop, go AX on both ends. Otherwise your right 😁

No LAN ports on the extender units - just the 4 on the main router.

Yup a usg would be good for the whole unifi experience but then you'd probably need to get a switch too.

Thanks, seems to only be 57.99 USD atm so less than £50! I've already got an Asus RT-AC86U router so probably not needed for now as it's been running fine but good to know.

That's a brilliant price!! Only downside is no English firmware right now but the app is and I just use Google translate if accessing via web. Already been a few decent firmware updates
