Why NOT buy an ACER Aspire one?

Why NOT buy an ACER Aspire one?

Ubisurfer Netbook with 12 months free internet acess via Gprs or wifi £149.99

Considering mobile broadband will cost you AT LEAST £150 for a year, this seems very reasonable?

Note only 30 hours / week usage.

Ah, so there's a time limit .. not sure how they'll enforce that one with GPRS.

Still, 30hours a week is a lot.

Well posted OP
This is a superb offer as this includes 30 hours a month on Vodafone mobile broadband.

I saw this last night and was going to post - well done OP !

:w00t:

hmmm - be careful with this one, a Samsumg Arm9 - 400Mhz - commonly used in in-car GPS units. Would like to see it have a go at anything with flash in....i reckon even web-ads would slow it bad.

as for the memory...it's either 64mb or 128mb depending on the top or bottom text in the OP.

complicated web pages will not be a friend to this machine.

Isn't GPRS 2G?

Will this come with a free upgrade for Windows7?

No

Shockingly bad specs, won't run anything but the most basic of things, knock £100 off and you'd be nearer the mark!

Bad deal in my opinion.

I think you would be much better off buying an Aspire One for around £150 and then getting a Vodafone PAYG dongle, around £30. If you are only doing light surfing (which is what you would be restricted to on GPRS due to the speed limit) then the 1 GB usage that is included should last you a good while perhaps 5/6 months. Perhaps also using free wifi spots if you have any heavy internet usage to do like downloading music etc. Of course the benefit of this is having a much better machine that will last you a good few years.

I was just laughing at the idea of this hardware running Win7.
