Think you must have got a duffer, nothing wrong with the bass on these.
If wanting a pair, these are probably better and 150 each:

Except these don't work in stereo as a pair currently, you'd have 2 units both outputting a stereo sound.
What's the differences between this and the ‘normal' boom range?

It's much larger and therefore more powerful
I rarely put my boom on max volume so am therefore able to stand strong and resist the temptation....

It isn't 'much' larger, it's just larger by about a 3rd. Differences are louder, far better bass (you can actually feel it with these - especially if you're running them in pairs) longer battery life (tho the new boom 2's have closed this gap) better Bluetooth range and better waterproofing. Worth the upgrade Imo and I own a pair of both the booms and the Megabooms BTW.
I'm loosing my mind trying to compare the different models & options for wireless speakers at the moment! am I right in thinking that this is bluetooth only and not wireless as well like for example the Bose soundtouch 10?

Ah I see, wish I had the cash to spend on a pair. Two Megabooms on opposite sides of the room would sound awesome, I'd imagine. A standard Normalboom is perfectly fine for me now, though.

Same as me. Very close to getting a pair of Raumfeld One S speakers. Direct from manufacturer they are £230 for a pair instead of £140 each, plus if you sign up get a £40 off voucher making them £190 a pair including free delivery. Also 3 months Tidal lossless. 8 week free trial of the units too and 12 year warranty. I'm fed up of comparing them now!
Cheers OP! Nearly got this on ebay with the little 20% off offer! Yes it can today be had as an import for £150 on ebay..but do you feel lucky?

Then you are wanting something totally different to a Megaboom. Your trying to compare aa Bluetooth portable speaker to a product that's more akin to a Sonos system (btw I also have a HT-XT3 soundbase that's from the same product family as the speakers you've mentioned).
down to 150 pound now, maybe 40 or 50 pound cheaper than the US as it happens.

i saw that on a camel alert. i'm annoyed that my Booms (1st gen) both complain about critical battery when at 80% and you play a couple of tunes loud. I haven't used/charged them that often, and logitech are quite dismissive of this issue on their forums. The official stance is 'TS'
