Control music using your voice

Make listening to your music easier with the Ultimate Ears Blast Portable Bluetooth Speaker. It has Amazon's Alexa voice commands built-in, so you can control your music using your voice. Just say: “Alexa, turn it up” to raise the volume, or “play some hip-hop” to change music genre.

You can even check the weather, and control your smart home devices thanks to Alexa's range of skills.

Enjoy more immersive sound

For better, clearer sound, the Blast features 360° audio that fills the room. It's surprisingly powerful for its small size, so you won't get tinny-sounding music like you do with less powerful portable speakers.

Waterproof and rugged

Don't worry about getting the speaker wet. It's waterproof so you can listen in the shower, or at a pool party. It's drop-proof too, just in case you're a little clumsy.

Listen for longer

Blast has a battery life of up to 12-hours, to outlast even the longest party, or road trip.

Connect wirelessly to your music

The Blast works with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth so you can wirelessly connect to your smartphone or computer, and listen to music from your Amazon Music account.

I can't seem to see it. Can you link it please?
Good price, but an awful colour, hence the reduction and Alexa does seem to be quite problematic on this UE version according to the reviews.

Bought this. Gonna sell the speaker on, and use the Spotify voucher. Should be free Spotify for half a year + a little extra cash on the UE boom resale as they seem to go for a bit more than £70 on ebay.

**Be aware that the free Spotify is only on new account. Will have to make a new account and copy my playlist over. But of faff but save £60
The biggest let down is the lack of playback controls on the speaker. At least for me as I dont particularly like using Alexa. Google assistant is much better at controlling Spotify.
I have the larger brother of this. And the sound is very good for such a portable speaker.
It's a good deal if you haven't got spotify premium. But the offer is for new subscribers only.
Fantastic price, awful colour. If it was available in different colours, I would’ve gone for it. Heat from me though

It's meant to be a fun speaker so the colour being a bit loud is ok really. As to Alexa itself, the performance isn't amazing and I treat it like a refreshed UE Boom now instead.

Phone, read me HUKD privacy and cookie policy!
Had one of these, different colour, and was pretty decent sound quality wise. Sold it used for more than this price. The Spotify deal is good too.
Thanks for posting, we have added this to the Highlights section
The mega blast is absolutely useless for Alexa. Just sent my 3rd one back. Shocking.
I have the white version of this - thoughts for anyone on the fence. The Alexa integration isn't good... first of all the responsiveness isn't anywhere near as good as Amazon's own speakers so it struggles to hear you, especially if you're listening to music which, well you probably are! Secondly the Alexa integration when it works is incredibly slow, so you find yourself repeating what you've said just in case it didn't hear you the first time. Honestly wouldn't bother with Alexa unless it's a last resort.

However... it's a brilliant speaker. I have mine in the bathroom and it sits in a shelf unit which adds more to the bass which is already pretty good. I'd forget the Alexa integration altogether (so would have been better with a boom to save pennies) as it links quickly and cleanly with bluetooth via my phone, and it works brilliantly doing it this way. The app is good enough for it and you can mess about with the EQ levels on it too.

The alexa is ok does the job for listening to music but is far inferior to amazon echo/dot products. And the speaker quality is very good perfect portable speaker in and out of the house

The quality of sound for a portable speaker is very good with long battery life. I don't use it for Alexa. Its nice to have a colour other than black. The app to control the speaker is very good and with two or more you can sync for party mode.
Hmm. Bought and just collected this. Not impressed with the sound at all, at this price point, and especially if it was at supposed RRP. It's true that the 360 degree thing is impressive and it's certainly clear right up to max volume, but bass is severely lacking even cranked to the max, and the whole sound is very uninspiring. I think it's that meh that I will be returning it. One of the most disappointing things I've bought in a while.

I've got a couple of cheapo (£15-20) speakers that sound worse for sure, but not £50+ worse, and the sound out of the UE smart radio (many years older, more complicated tech, about the same RRP) absolutely blasts the Blast away IMHO.

Of course all that could be personal preference and/or knackered ears. Just my 2 penneth.

Just collected mine too. Agree with "tin" that the sound isn't amazing, nothing on my cheaper LG WK7. Alexa is frustratingly bad, sometimes it works sometimes not..at first check battery life isn't what is claimed as well....However for the price and with Spotify its great for the garden. Bluetooth works fantastically and the device really does appear to be pretty bomb proof. Only time will tell...
