Still comfortably the best phone for someone who - makes and receives calls - types long emails - values battery life - doesn't need a whole lot of apps The thing is built like a tank and sports an rgb led which is crazy useful.

I wanted to replace my Nokia 1520 which has started to play up and don't like IoS or Android particularly so have been agonising over stupidly expensive branded phones I won't like versus cheap Chinese phones I won't like. Having read reviews of BB10.3 and this phone, I managed to get one when they were back in stock yesterday evening. Thanks OP, voted hot (for what it's worth!).

Kinda agree but it's not that the phone lasts only 2 years(if it does then I would be looking to manuf to sort as you've not had reasonable useage ) but people are too new face and want to show off to their peers!

pentaya

I'm using priv and it's an excellent piece ...Dtek security, decent battery, high specs, great screen and physical keyboard too!! ... I assume any phones these days doesn't last long more than 2 years... hence , I stopped going for expensive contracts and that prompts me to look for alternatives.

AJ92

The priv was posted earlier.

VanDutch

Takes me back to the days of BBM.. Will always have a soft spot for Blackberry. Real shame they had to drop their own OS in favour of Android.. But from the reviews the Priv looks like an excellent phone for £280 - just not sure you'd have one ahead of some of 2015s flagships...

Best most solid mobile device on the market, just a pity about the apps - I can use most, but loss of whatsapp will be a nuisance at end of the year. I Find Z30 to be easier to use in terms of virtual keybaord, but awesome device.

dcb01

Managed to get most of my used apps I had on my Andriod device to work on my passport with no geek based messing around such as ColorNote/TV Guide/PassDiary/TrackID/Trainline//CoPilot GPS/RingGo/London Bus Pal/ Tunein Radio/Travel Interpreter/Dailymail Online/Last Pass/Sky+/Unit Converter/Amazon Music/Interlocked/Siege Hero and Boggle.

dcb01

Useful/totally stupid comment from someone that proberly enjoys paying out nearly £1000 per year on so called free upgrades no doubt !!

CriticalObserver

it's been this price for a month now. Still comfortably the best phone out there right now. BB10 is so much better than Android it's not even funny. Granted, if you need lots of apps or like to play games on your phone, this one is not for you; however, if your primary needs tend towards using a phone as a communications device, then there is none better.

For those who missed out on this CPW deal... A pretty solid phone, ideal for those who like typing on a physical keyboard and prefer Android to Blackberry OS
nav157

I think it's clear vast majority don't give a damn about virtual keyboard they much prefer more practical on board keyboards. As for memory muscle I get plenty of that using my pc keyboard. Give it up son.

Astec123

Completely unnecessary for you maybe. Virtual keyboard is better for you, for those that actually care what messages look like after we type them then a physical keyboard is a must. Plus it works wonders to use muscle memory to just type out a message without needing to constantly look at the screen to avoiding meaningless rubbish. You can keep your thin slab of sameness. I'll keep wanting phones with keyboards even if it's 2mm thicker than the phone you compare it to just for the convenience of choice.

nav157

Virtual keyboard is better, additional physical keyboard just added bulk thickness to phone. Not to mention price was increased due to this pretty useless hardware. Completely unnecessary. Software must say was a big plus and to be honest I'm tempted but I'm holding out on the DTEk60. Hopefully it's priv without the keyboard.

m5rcc

There is every need for a physical keyboard!

nav157

Should have been priced at 400 at launch, would have sold far more and no need for a physical keyboard.

Yeah it may well drop but I feel it's final stock as the basic model( note:as per header but don't tell tfish as he/she may take offence, let's just keep it between us :D :D :D ) obviously sold quicker as it was cheaper

As already mentioned the SE is still available, might prices fall even further or are we likely looking at final stock now?..

I love Blackberry phones but this is a "Black Friday" sale. They should have dropped the Priv to £399.99 for one day, I'd have probably picked one up at that price. As hulk said, too pricey!

Very impressed. Not buggy for me. Battery life is amazing. 2 days with light use.

EugeneVictorTooms

http://shop.blackberry.com/store/bbrryus/DisplayReturnAndCancellationsPage https://www.mcafeestore.com/store/defaults/en_GB/DisplayDRTermsAndConditionsPage Looks like you'd be able to return the device pretty easily to Blackberry if you order direct from them and if the phone is still in 'as new' condition, if you don't get on with it. Plus I don't think Amazon has it in white if that's the colour you want. It's a saving of around £25 on Amazon but I haven't for a bad word to say about amazon customer service and have no experience of ordering directly from BlackBerry, I'm sure you'd be fine with whatever you choose. Best of luck if you choose to order from either man, hope you get on with it.

EugeneVictorTooms

I think Amazon would be a good option if you want to try it out and send it back if you don't like it as their customer service is stellar but the Blackberry price is quite a bit cheaper and I'm sure their returns department would adhere to the distance selling regulations and give you at least 14 days to return it as new... Lemme check their returns policy...

roadie

With delivery, it comes to £154.30, at Amazon it's around £178.. what do you reckon?

EugeneVictorTooms

I can confirm WhatsApp, Skype, Deezer and Spotify work flawlessly. HSBC have an app on blackberry world and it's identical to the app on the play store. I've not used the RBS one but done a quick Google and it does exist. https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/51680890/?countrycode=GB〈=en The delivery is a kick in the nads but £155 delivered is still a better price than this phone anywhere else I can see right now. £145 and free delivery would have been nicer, I can't see why blackberry feel the need to charge for delivery.

Bargain, Z10 is still the best phone i've used - to all the haters who haven't got a clue about the current apps that will work, pretty much 90% of Android apps will work without any fuss so the benefit of Android plus Blackberry for email etc, plus 4G. Can never understand the hate for blackberries. Fantastic devices. Very similar to windows phone in that the OS is great to use but suffers due to the lack of apps. Blackberry has the slight advantage of being able to run android apps but I believe windows phone has a faster growing app store. Hope blackberry continue to make phones. When they make a good budget phone, similar in price and spec to a moto e or g i'd love to have one as a phone for backup and nights out etc.

lhassall

Price not that bad for a 5" 720p device but Blackberry's are now outsourced to Foxconn in China so they should be cheaper. Maybe after 6 months they'll be nearer £100? Still a huge task to regain PAYG market share.

Codify

Wow. 720p screen, 8MP camera, Qualcomm S4 processor - great to see Blackberry finally catching up with 2012-era flagships

lucifon

Anyone invested in the BlackBerry eco-system should probably start investing elsewhere at this point. (don't mistake this comment for a cold vote, if it's the best price for the device then it's hot :) )

How bizarre, I've never had any of these issues with my Z10 and every independent Z10 review I've read appears to be a positive. Sounds like you have a faulty phone or try using another network.

pengwyn

using a BB10 phone for android is like putting cola in a fine wine. why not get a phone that does android apps directly. Your not going to say bb apps are worth getting a bb10 phone for. Sorry thats an amusing thought

pengwyn

Thats rubbish! With my Playbook awaited promises of android capability and bb10 all rubbish. Didnt stop me buying another though the Playbook the browsing is PC like and multitasking second to none HDMI compatibility not MTP crap. Still need an android tab to complement it and would stay clear of a BB phone as no apps cold from me.
