Since this shoots 1080p @60fps, why do folk not use the likes of this full setup for streaming ? Is it just because it's not advertised for streaming or what ? Hot, from what i can tell.

spinach_pie

The pocket just looks so damn cute I want it!

caparn1

The FeiyuTech RICCA definitely needs a gimbal or it's very shaky. But you could just buy a GoPro7 Black for about £200 with no gimbal and get better picture quality. RICCA V.S. GOPRO HERO 7 BLACK

AndrewRunagall

I am looking for something similar, but the deal breaker for me is that it only can record 4k footage at 30fps, I really would like 4k at 60fps (I know of the DJI Osmo Pocket, it's just a little outside my budget).

7day

Good price , Camera gets hot and you lose pixels...white spots. the 2 buttons on top are easily set to on so you will be shooting and not know ...very light touch starts it. You don’t swipe up or down etc as GoPro or dji. You do a circular movement to use the screen and need small finger or it goes wrong .. looks good though. Gimbal is fine.

Very tempted at this price.

spinach_pie

It was such a good deal and looking at eBay second hand prices, they stay strong for a long time if you changed your mind in future.

marks

Was not my original plan as I was going to get a Sony full frame camera as I already has some full frame lens for an older Sony Amount camera that recently died so got the olympus when it came up as wanted something small, light and cheap but then got a stonking deal on the a6300. So yes is slight odd to have 2 different systems and only planning to have one lens for the Olympus or might sell it. Just see how it goes.

toaster

Two incompatible systems seems an odd decision, why not just buy the compact E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS for your A6300 to make a superb travel kit? The A6300 is lighter and smaller than the Olympus E-M10 III

marks

I have not used it properly yet as I have a Sony A6300 as my main camera and got the Olympus purely as a travel camera, yes I got the deal that was direct with Olympus which had the twin lens bundle whihc was a steal at £399.

M43 is really good for birding, long lenses aren't ginormous and can be hand held due to the decent IBIS.

From my experience I have loved Sony & Nikon. I do have a Lumix G90 which I haven't got to opening. It also depends what you want....if you're into wildlife, you would generally want something with fast tracking. I am still learning all this photography stuff ans I am loving it. I find myself birding a lot.

The main benefit of moving to M4/3 is for size and weight. Lenses in particular are lighter and smaller in M4/3. The G90 is one of the bigger bodies while the GX9 uses the same sensor but is smaller. For me, M4/3 is good enough. My Fuji APSC had better picture quality in low light but it was a much bigger package and the lenses were more expensive.

r200ti

It does depend on the use case. It looks like Olii only takes one sort of picture - so yes an APSC system built around that would probably make more sense. Infact im thinking eyes/full face is more a full frame thing as bulk wont matter and you get the full sensor goodness. However cameras like the G90 are the superior hybrid. They do everything really well and have the lens's to back it up. I had no interest in MFT either but the more i use it, the less im using APSC.

Olii

Thank you. I dont know much about cameras but photos on Canon 70d looks better than on 700d. So i was thinking to buy 70d or 80d. I see that 5d takes better than 700d as well. I just takes eyes photos / full face.

toaster

Why move to a smaller M4/3 sensor after you're used to APS-c, specially a big heavy one like this G90? Still images won't be better than your existing Canon and DOF will be worse. The only reason to buy the G90 would be for video but I'd rather get a Fuji or Sony if I wanted a good hybrid all-rounder.

Olii

Thanks a lot. Images are good with 50mm lens.

I use the Samyang 12mm f2.0 prime used off ebay. It manual focus but that isn't an issue when it is that wide as everything beyond a few metres is hyper focal. Very high optical quality lens with few aberrations.

bovrilla

Not the previous poster, but here's a couple of good choices. 25mm for general shooting, 14mm for wider angle outdoorsy stuff. Panasonic 14mm f2.5 Panasonic 25mm f1.7 I don't own the 14mm so can't give it a firm recommendation, but I use the 25mm a lot and think it's essential.

A bit old but see this is on that dpreview list : https://www.cameraland.co.uk/panasonic-lumix-dmc-gx8-digital-incl-black

bovrilla

It's a sort-of optical zoom, I absolutely love how they do it, which is to put multiple sensors and lenses of different focal lengths on the phones and use a controlled digital zoom to step seamlessly between them as you pass each focal length. Apple does that the best at present due to the ridiculously good processor and some smart programming, but others are catching up for cheaper. Some of the more wacky chinaphones are putting 5 lenses on there.

I’ve just purchased this camera! Was looking for a lens which is best suited for video & portraits / landscape. (Mainly video). Do you have any recommendations for me? Thank you for your prior help in everything too!

Minstadave

Try telling the bride both cards failed. Or your bag was stolen on the way home. Reality is you can never completely mitigate risk and it isn't a necessity to have dual card slots to do wedding photography - people managed for decades with horrible unreliable film and plenty of pro DSLRs had only one slot. Dual card slots reduces the risk of image loss, but doesn't get rid of it. Why not triple slots, quadruple shots, real time cloud backup, shooting on 1GB cards so you don't have all your eggs in one basket?

windta1ker

Do you own the a7iii by any chance? the 850 is heavier but not unworkable by any stretch of the imagination...and will nearly triple the amount of shots the Sony can do lenses are completely useable on the z with the adapter...anyway I'd stick the 24-70 2.8 on the z7 and leave it at that...one of the best bits of glass ever made in that range

toaster

D850 is a big heavy camera with a completely different mount to Z series, two sets of lenses and/or messing with adapters, crazy. As I said the Sony A7III is all you need, it is just a tool (brand loyalty shouldn't interfere with being proffesional) and at the moment it's the best tool for this particular job.

windta1ker

Ah my point was when spending the dollar on the cards then purchase what speeds are capable for the slots (I'm not a Sony user so haven't looked into it beyond this) it was just a bit of advice to haashim, not sure in what capacity hes looking at doing weddings but you need more than one body I used to do weddings but if looking at it again, I'd seriously look at the d850 as main camera and z6/7 for my backup/additional ...always been a Nikon user but obviously other offerings from other companies

Buying second hand helps, certainly, but not the same for everything. DSLRs for example won't hold their price for long, even if bought used.

brilly

thats true if you buy second hand as you did which is basically the same for everything

traylee

Nice find OP. I think it's worth noting, when you buy high quality glass like this, it will keep it's value better than more ordinary glass(providing it's well looked after). It's ironic, but you will save money, by spending more. For example, I recently sold a 21mm Zeiss Distagon which I bought used around 5 years ago. It sold for a few pounds less than what I paid for it, so I effectively rented a great lens for just a few quid. Please post if you find a good deal on Zeiss Otus 28/1.4 or Sigma Art 14/1.8!

noggin2k1

There's quite a bit of context around it; Sony Zeiss lenses - made by Sony, with input from Zeiss (coatings, designs etc) Zeiss Batis - made by Zeiss, with AF technology licensed from Sony, to give native lens performance Zeiss Otus/Loxia - Zeiss lenses, just like they are for any mount There's obviously been a commercial agreement in place (Sony probably bunged them a load of cash to supplement their line up in the early days). Tamron/Sigma now see Sony E mount as commercial viable, as they've both just launched native lenses - the only reason why Zeiss seemingly have a 3rd party monopoly is because other parties held back to make sure they'll get an ROI from it.

If you want to get really close (wildlife shots) then the Panasonic 100-300 is also great. Bit more expensive, though.

Many cameras are sold without lenses.

Fine if you are happy with a bigger camera and lenses, it depends what you want it for.

No problem baz. I thought this was a good price esp with the 5 warranty. Seems a very capable camera.
