sounds like a great idea!

Id rather boil my own head and eat it than go back to that place on any day of the year...

been to the one in swansea when i was working away, my god couldnt move after eating as much as the body can take,
must have looked like a cripple walking back to the hotel room,
had a dose of the squirts that night

I'm guessing you didn't enjoy it - we've been a couple of times to a very new one and thought it was fab quality and really good value especially the bottomless drinks and very quiet. Maybe I was just lucky so my initial view is a cheap family meal with enough choice to suit everyone,

explain?

Would anyone, seriously, want to spend Christmas day there???

My other half eats like a gannet normally, but he reckoned it was like an Army cookhouse and wasn't impressed. I think its great that everyone can have what they want when they want, and best of all you don't have to wait for it to arrive at your table. In Swansea you see them preparing things behind the counter, like cutting up peppers fresh for the salad, rather than getting out a bag of ready chopped peppers bought in.

The Swansea one is great but like most other restaurants, avoid between 12.30 and 2.30pm as you'll have to queue outside the door. Fantastic value for families though.

I've been to the one in Swnasea by the premmier inn, waited 40m minutes to get a table, have to say i won't set a foot in one again. The food on offer was very poor, burgers, chicken that had been sat there hours, pizza's were bare and tastless, the chinese was options were swimming in grease.

The only thing i enjoyed were the choclate buttons. colleagues went there a month later as well, they wont be dropping by again either.

Cold added i'm afraid

my son took me to swansea one for a meal 2 weeks ago and it was a very nice meal :thumbsup:and lovely company of course:-D

Blanche has i think?

Newcastle one is excellent

Food prepared in veiw

Every thing very fresh
been in when rammed and when quiet food was excellent both times

Taybarns is excellent value based on normal prices.

However it would cost £75 for a family of four and there's no way I would be spending that on a turkey dinner!

Sorry but Cold (bah humbug)

Thank you Coriander for telling us about Taybarns!!

We'd never heard of them when we saw your post so had a look at the website. We were intrigued so we took a little detour on our way to Meadowhall yesterday and went to the one in Barnsley. It was fantastic - lots of choice and the food was delicious. It reminded us of going to a Ponderosa in Florida. We thought it well worth £5.95 and will definitely go again even though it's nearly an hours drive away from home.

Thanks again!

If you liked Ponderosa then next time try the Golden Corral's whilst in Florida - we used to go to Ponderosa but once we found the Golden Corral we never go anywhere else apart from the odd McD's of course ......lol!!!

ohh dear ,bad then lol

I am a regular visitor to the wigan taybarns, i have 6 children and they all love it, and me too, love the bottomless costa coffee!!! Never had a problem

i have been to the one in newcastle staffs and go regularly to the barnsley one, the food is varied and the staff helpfull, no it is not the ultimate in haute quisine however the food is great value for money and worth the 60 mile round trip, at busy times can be noisy
