For a minute I thought, thats a good price for a fridge.
A second ops comments, have the model up the mega blast and its amazing have it in the bath room and use Alexa daily. Get the wireless charger upgrade as its worth it. Tried chucking my in a pool and it carried on working fine.
Still think the sony ones are a bit slicker and you get a bit more bang for your buck
Can these be used as a stereo pair? I can never see the point of one speaker, I can't see why they are usually sold in ones

Be aware, these won't link to UE Boom 2 /3 or Megabooms if you're hoping to link them all via the app.
I have this the WiFi is absolutely awful.
Had one of these, ok but sounds like it's playing from a tin. Ended up purchasing a Bose.. much better!

This sounds excellent. Even professional websites like what hifi give it a good rating. whathifi.com/ult…iew

Most Bose speakers that I have listened to, if not all, have an artificially boosted top and bottom end. If you like that sort of an artificial sound, then this speaker is not for you.

This doesn't generate any wifi to be awful. What maybe awful is your wifi setup, in turn causing this to drop the connection.

I have an Orbi mesh setup at home and have only once experienced a transient drop out in the last year of using this speaker as well as its bigger sibling the Megablast.

What do you mean “generate”?

Spotify connect on WiFi is poor with this speaker, never have any WiFi related issues in my flat aside from this speaker. The speaker is literally in the same room as the access point, I don’t see how that could be any better aside from being wired in. Amazon Echo’s I have don’t seem to have any issues.

We listen to Spotify, previously Deezer and also Tune in daily on the Blast and Megablast. One in each bathroom. Even behind closed doors and being a large house; we have never had any problems with connectivity. Although, when we were using an ISP provided router, we had no end of so called wifi issues. I do wish Alexa could be replaced with Google. Other than that I have no complaints.

Either you have a faulty unit or there is an issue with your wifi. My experience, most times, with people complaining of poor wifi has to do with the wifi setup/router rather than the device itself.

Have you not tuned up your hearing aid yet? There might be an app for it

I have one of these. And I have a Bose. There isn't much difference in the quality of the sound. Probably you source wasn't the best. Did you use their app and EQ? It does make a big difference.
Thanks, I ordered one!

I accept that sound quality is subjective; but how about providing some evidence for the rubbish you spouted, rather than simply insulting others? Most if not all reviewers praise the sound quality of the Blast:
expertreviews.co.uk/ue/…ker
techradar.com/uk/…ast
trustedreviews.com/rev…ast
cnet.com/rev…ew/

The only Bose I have liked is their noise cancelling headphones. The review below is the Bose smart speaker.
cnet.com/rev…ew/ Sound quality rated not great and perhaps equivalent in price to the Blast/Megablast.

Perhaps it isn't me who needs a hearing aid?

I had Megaboom, but compared to my new JBL Xtreme is crap. I agree on the sound quality. It is very muffled. Blast maybe improved but i doubt it. On the other side i would say UE lines are more durable.

I think the problem he has is the music he is listen to. Probably not well produced songs. I may be wrong, but that is my guess. I do enjoy my UA, it was a real help on few barbecues in our back garden
And I do know a bit about a sound production. Guitar and piano player here.

My first thought was modern looking coffin (because of this huge cross).

I haven't heard the Megaboom per se, but have trialled the Xtreme. Yes, it has a more fun sound signature, but I wouldn't call the Blast or Megablast muffled or crap. They are more natural compared to the Xtreme. The Xtreme 2 sounds even better.

Unfortunately the Xtreme isnt anywhere as waterproof as the Blast, doesn't have a smart assistant and has to sit horizontal due to its passive radiators on the end. So takes up a lot of shelf space in a bathroom. Those passive radiators also make it a bit fragile, unlike the Blast that you can leave with the kids to play with. Also the Blast has the wireless charging stand which is a god send in my situation. So really not comparable speakers in terms of features.

yep that was my second guess, after I realised it was too good a deal for a fridge.
This is an incredible deal for a quality speaker with great battery and sound quality. Never had any issues with the wifi connections and Alexa features like some have mentioned.

Didn't notice that wee space between signs on miniature pic through my mobile. Maybe I should invest in pair of glasses? 😋

VPN use is fine. I haven't required or used port forwarding; so cannot comment on that. Sorry.
