Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5vi
The "vi" version has a microphone if you're using your phone.
£40 for them is not bad given that UE are usually awfully expensive.

Delivery is £3.50 and I don't like it to be honest... but still gets you a total of £43.50 which is quite good for this pair

Hot from me. I've been looking for some decent quality earphones with a volume control + mic. I wasn't aware that these existed so have been newly tempted.

Looking at the reviews online for these they get average/good marks, I believe this is because they had a release price of £90 (still £109 on the Mug store) so reviewers looked at them negativity when compared to the competition at that price point. At £40 they are a much more appealing buy.

Same for me! I've been on the search for a pair to replace my Sony EX75 that have been a true work-horse for the last 2 yrs...
Ultimate Ears is a huge name...but the price tag is definitely ridiculous...

These are not as good as the SuperFi5 yet far better than the MetroFi220 or even the superfi4

Not bothered about the "vi" although I prefer it wasn't there, but for that price I can't really complain!
You can compare them against the Sony MDR-EX500LP, which is a traditional dynamic transducer type with a huge 13.5mm driver...and almost the same price tag....

Eh? they are exactly the same just with the mic and remote. The people who report no bass in the reviews just dont have them in right, they have great bass when seated and enclosed in your ear properly. great price

Not the UE SuperFi 5 PRO (The black ones) they're way more expensive...and a different design.

Honestly, I'm quite confused again...back to square 1......
Sony MDR-EX500LP ? or Shure SE102 ? or Ultimate Ears Superfi 5 vi ?

mixed reviews...sometimes I even think those who review it aren't reviewing the same product.

Go to Trusted Reviews and they score them low, whereas if you look elsewhere, they're praising them! Same for the Shure...

As stated in my earlier post the reason for the reviews is that these used to be £90 so were reviewed as if they were that price. In the same way that if a Ford Fiesta cost £20k then it would get terrible reviews because everyone would say "buy a BMW 1 series" whereas if you could pick one up for £8k it would be a good deal.

this is a great price for these headphones, I have the superfi 4 (which are good and worth the £18 I paid but not amazing) but these should be better.
