Control music using your voice

Make listening to your music easier with the Ultimate Ears Blast Portable Bluetooth Speaker.

It has Amazon's Alexa voice commands built-in, so you can control your

music using your voice. Just say: “Alexa, turn it up” to raise the

volume, or “play some hip-hop” to change music genre.

You can even check the weather, and control your smart home devices thanks to Alexa's range of skills.

I think there's 1.5% Quidco available too.

Very nice; thanks for posting @Welshman.Adam
Does anyone know how these sound compared to the Sonos one? Is the Sonos worth the premium?
Decent price for a decent Wireless speaker but according to Which? Magazine the UE Megablast is the better model.:{

For outdoor use, the ue speakers are fine. Good quality, loud and life proof.

The sonos on the other hand is much better quality sound, you can hear the difference.

If your looking for a decent portable outdoor speaker, UE boom (or the JBL FLIP 4, link 20 etc)

If you want an indoor speaker, and can afford the extra, get the sonos.

Thanks for your help. It'd be for indoor use, to replace my 1st gen echo. I imagine they'd all sound better than that! Being half the price of the Sonos makes it very tempting. I'll give them all a listen in Currys i think.
A word of warning. I have a non-amazon alexa speaker and find that there are too many features missing. It simply does not integrate with my other alexa devices. From the reviews I see on Amazon I suspect that this speaker has some of the same drawbacks.

Well of course they do, and it is. It’s much bigger and more expensive...... Did they have any better reasons than the obvious?

I'd probably Google it.
I have this speaker. It's very good rugged and portable. Sound quality is very good. Battery lasts 5 hours 3/4 volume with rock music. 11 hours plus listening to radio.

Actually they had the best price for the Megablast around £136, and the blast £150. Added to that Which ratings also take price into consideration

Updates are coming this year to add various features. Spotify control being one of them.

The boom isn’t a smart speaker. Sound wise they’re pretty similar.
Had these i like the bass on them needed to be returned there was trouble charging them. Bought the jbl xtreme instead so much louder and better. I also saw UE MB on offer with buy one get one free offer not long ago. (No vote given)
Can I use this in my car for playing Spotify using Alexa?

I have the UE ROLL it’s tiny for taking on holiday and for using in the garden. The sound quality is class for the size of it. Very loud as well. That’s cheaper than these but it’s all down to what you are wanting to use it for. The roll is loud enough
Cannot believe they removed the 3.5mm audio input.!

Yes when I looked. Having checked the Which? Website again today it seems the MB price has now increased to £166.86.:{
Voted hot. I was about to write, clearly this a better deal than the boom 2 (I was actually quite annoyed as I just bought a Boom 2 a month ago and in principle the Blast should be more future proof). But not having a headphone jack is pretty annoying - it is always a good backup option in case you’re using a device without Bluetooth. It’s also one of the only protocols not dependent on support from the manufacturer. Not so clear cut
