Deal, but what about for weddings at weekends??!

The only good suit deals left at M&S seem to be the Big and Tall Ultimate ones, I got a couple of different ones for £59 a suit which is fab considering their quality!

But it was £149 ! WAS £149!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most suits are dry clean only.

The link just goes to the main page. Does anyone happen to have the codes for these items so I can search manually, please? I'm in dire need of a suit and would like to check this out. Thanks.

good price for a suit that looks decent. tempted

Yup... The only trousers are 30" with a 29" leg and the smallest jacket is 40" long - you would need to be quite an odd shape :w00t:

Just bought 2 Suits, in slightly different sizes (for seasonal variations!).

Also buy 2 and save another £19!! (Don't forget quidco)

Confused about the above comments, I just ordered "Flat Front Trousers (Size 40 , 31, Black) "

The point being made was the actual suit the OP posted was this one

marksandspencer.com/Ult…rh=

which has available a minimum size 40" Long jacket (which is quite a normal size) but the only pair of trousers available are 30" waist and 29" leg. Basically meaning you'd need to have really long arms, short legs, broad-ish chest and skinny waist, hence no one has purchased this particular suit yet!

With the Jacket yeah, you expect to have to get one dry cleaned but the jacket doesnt need cleaning as often, but to have to get your trousers dry cleaned once a week at an average cost of £5 - then you are looking at a general upkeep bill of £20 per month...or £240 a year..............

Now how much of a bargain are they?? :whistling:

Once a week!!??... Everyone knows with suit trousers you just need to wait until they go a little crusty and then give it another two weeks of wear like that before you take them to the cleaners

?????
Who on EARTH gets their suit trousers dry cleaned once a week???

You either
(a) do a particularly dirty job and therefore shouldnt be wearing a suit
(b) suffer from some cleanliness syndrome
(c) are trying to make some feeble point.

I do an office job, but i would feel extremely dirty if i was to not get my trousers cleaned once a week - surely NOBODY wears a pair of trousers EVERY DAY for a WEEK and doesnt get them cleaned?? eeeurrghh!! :whistling:

Even if you only get the cleaned once a fortnight they are gonna cost you £120 a year in cleaning bills.....you'd be much better of getting a quality pair of non-wool trousers.

The Ultimate ones are v good for £59 the quality is that of a £150 - £200 suit (I have one already) but the ones that are normally £49 are pap quality :-(

If you don't go for wool suits you end up in a very cheap looking suit. If you have 5 or so suits that you rotate then you need only dry clean them on average once or twice a year, it's not like people in suits tend to be running marathons or anything particularly strenuous and you probably only spend up to ten hours a day in them and change into alternative clothing the moment you walk through your front door. Got my 6 suits all 100% wool (except one which is wool blend- noticeably cheaper quality if you're used to wool) from tesco sale, paying between £22 and £65 and all look at least as good as the ted baker and ysl suits i accumulated during my money>sense years. Never been able to get any reasonable sizes in the m&s offers and whilst this is an ok deal it's availability is more limited than a dsgi 97p offer so not voting.

Useless information by now, but I got a wool-rich M&S suit for £33 a couple of weeks back at the outlet store in Stevenage. Think it was ordinarily £130.

Someone had clearly had a bit of a fit with the reduction gun, as that was the combined price of suits where the only size combinations they had was 48" long jacket and 29" short trousers. They had 6 such racks and clearly hadn't paid attention to the fact that 1 of the racks was full of jackets and irrelevant trousers, and the other was full of trousers for the same suit, along with random jackets. They were on opposite sides of the store, so this fact had clearly been missed by whoever put them out, thinking they were down to odds and ends.

Result for me, as I also got undercharged for the shirt I bought along with it. Suit and a fantastic Autograph shirt for £41.

If only all shopping experiences were like that.

They are when my company gives me cleaning tokens! :-)

So you only have the one suit then?:whistling:

The trick is to buy four or five and then each suit only needs dry cleaning once a month. Unless you do something in your trousers that should be done in the bathroom;-)

Hardly any sizes left, would have been nice to get one. Oh well, thanks anyway.

WOW. An extreme case of grasping at straws I think. And I also think you do not have a clue what you are talking about.

What cheap rubbish kind of suit are you going to get where you can machine wash the trousers and dry clean the jacket? If you did wash them seperately and at diffferent times then it would not be long before the suit looked like two mis-matched items.

I always spill er-food on my clothes so I need to wash them quite often.

 Nope....I buy ONE suit Jacket and 2 or 3 of the pairs of suit trousers that go with it - so that I can regularly keep rotating the trousers and washing them after ive worn them a week. That way it NEVER looks mis-matched !!! ;-)

You need to think outside the box a bit more

But machine washed trousers will fade.

So you save money on dry cleaning bills by buying three pairs of cheap trousers instead of one, then wash them in a washing machine which fades them, then ironing them and making them all shiny.

I like it in the box, thank you.

Thinking needed outside the box again young man....

1) not all non-wool suits are 'cheap' or easily fade (especially if rotated)

2) you've obviously never pressed a pair of trousers...you put a damp tea towel between the iron and the trousers...illiminates shine!

Next?

1, Show me the machine wash suits that do not look cheap, young man.

2, I spent 10 years in the Army and have pressed more pairs of trousers than you have thrown away. Maybe putting a damp tea towel between the iron and the trousers does ILLUMINATE the shine, but I would want to eliminate it, and to do that I would use a sheet of brown paper.

Oh, no I wouldn't. I would pay the extra couple of quid and get them done by someone else.
