You will receive just the DVD's in their case

Cold as there is nothing new about this offer.

Voted Cold.

If you read the EULA and copyright notices you wll find that you are only able to use the software so long as you remain a student...Once your studies finish you need to pay full-price.

Additionally, this is like getting young kids onto cigarettes...Get em while they're young good and cheap then charge them through the roof in later years.

The Student versions from MS have always been a downright disgrace...Use Openoffice...It's even cheaper...free...

This is a great deal for a professional, widely-recognised, indusrty-standard bit of software. Comparing free software to commercial product is nonsense

No worries.... I did find it amusing also lol

not wanting to get into the debate about OS software etc but you can also get vista ultimate for about 39 squid if you have an .ac.uk address :-D

I thought genuine student get this sodtware for free from their education provider. My daughter did.

PS She didn't take it though because she said most of her class mates hate Office 2007 and keep using Office 2003.

technically the software is provided by digitalriver.com as your paying them. Microsoft provide the software and licence to digitalriver.com

At the end of the day I don't care where or who the deal comes from, as long as somone benefits from this post at this price. Who cares if someones took it from someone elses post, if you were so bothered why didn't you post it in the first place.

Its like saying sponge someone found a better deal on another game from my post. Who cares...

If you don't have an ac.uk email address, but do have kids in school then check out software4students which although not quite as good a deal as this is still better value than the home & student edition.

i guess they give you the OEM Dvd not like retail!

That's a rather sweeping generalization isn't it?

OpenOffice is a good free alternative to Microsoft Office but if you really want MS Office then the deal in the post is a good one. There...that's a fairer comment, wouldn't you say?

I have to admit that I use MS Office (mainly out of habit, Microsoft got me young) but all the other non-game software on my PC is freeware.

good deal voted hot

All, if you are like me you don't trawl the posts for deals you just check the first few pages of the hot deals and new deals which means that if deals are not posted again like in this case I would likely have missed it so thanks to the original poster the reposter and anyone else who has spotted this amazing price for a quality product - keep up the good work all of you.

Cheers

D :-)

Yeah, it's not a retail packed DVD.

Steve

This deal is brill - i downloaded last year and have subsiquently download twice over for new PC`s. Get it while you can (not always available). Just a tip, make a note of the download address (NOT THE BIG STEAL ADDRESS AS THIS STOPS WORKING WHEN DEAL IS OFF) as as if you need to re-download it is a pain trying to find the download page (in fact, near impossible) !!! Im not sure why you need a .ac address as the product key is not emailed to the address - the product key can be viewed on your payment/invoice docket after payment (at least you could when i used it) (!):whistling:

Yes I have Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Visio, Visual Studio, SourceSafe, MSDN Library, Virtual PC along with some non-M$ for FREE from university. And yes I do prefer the 2003 version, 2007 sucks!

This is a great deal anyway, heat added. Cheers.

Correction:

Comparing commercial software to free open source software is perfectly valid (in many cases the free alternative is better). Comparing the widely-recognised industry standard to one that isn't the standard is where the difference occurs.
