I think you will find that that is down to the ultra mini nano aerial inside. There is a payoff with miniaturisation.

Not defective, you can't get decent n reception without an aerial

great stuff

I ordered something from DX on 01/01/11, but delivery status is still not sent. I have enquire their customer service with no reply as yet.

Is this normal for DX to be this slow?

Will this work in an old laptop of mine that i used to have to use a big wireless 'g' adaptor/transmitter card in the side?
I would assume not but thought it worth asking..

I have 2 Samsung N140 Laptops with
Realtek 8192E's in them they do around 6.5 meg a sec stable to my atheros AR9132 Wireless N 300 Router
My Laptop with an intel ABG does around 2 meg

I expect these to do around the same

Will come in handy for one of my hp laptops that has a lockout on mini pci-e cards

When it arrives in around 3 weeks i will post the speed i get

yes in fact they have taken your money and you'll have to fight nail and tooth to get it back
useless customer service and dangerous to ever consider ordering from them again!

I cant understand why this is so hot after reading the reviews on here.
I posted up the Solway wifi micro usb dongle which is better than this and so is the company yet its not got as hot as this one has.

Get a grip. Just because you may have had a bad experience does not mean that everyone else will automatically have the same.

Or simply get yourself a Santander Zero card for foreign purchases, and tell PayPal not to do the conversion.

they are handy if you need it for short term use. not recommend for any long term usage.
Pro: easy to carry around
Cons: low distance range, (may) often overheat.

It's pathetic to see people spreading misinformation on the basis of ridiculous cliches like this. DX have been trading reputably for years and whilst you may have had issues with them and they may not be particularly fast when it comes to postage, it's preposterous of you to imply that someone who is overly impatient with their order is being scammed and will have to fight tooth and nail to get their money back.

Ordered one of these recently. Took 3 weeks to arrive but that spanned Christmas. Get a decent signal but can only get transfer rates of around 65Mb/s. Not sure whether the problem lies with the router (O2 wireless box IV) or the dongle. Any advice appreciated.

150Mbps is the theoretical speed it can achieve. This never happens in real life. I would say 65Mbps is a decent speed considering the tiny aerial the dongle has. Also you need to take obstructions such as walls into account.

i got mine off ebay for a fiver each delivered.

just thought i would stick my 5 eggs worth in,
been dealing with DX for years brought loads of interesting gadgets from them some crap some awesome never felt ripped off though product will always arrive even if its slow due to HK postal strikes, had to return 2 items that developed a fault again no problem with them only had to get a refund once for an item on back order and they were very efficient after breaking through the language barrier,
i will accept some people have had problems but for the thousands of satisfied customers like myself i would say they are still worth sticking with for the gadgets and free postage if nothing else
try being patient with them and bear in mind their english is poor on a good day and you may get lucky
thats my opinion and i am sticking with it lol

Can you use it on a Mac?

I agree that DX tries its best if you approach the company with a healthy awareness of caveat emptor - some of the prices are stonking and the flip side of that is that there are going to be some dubious moments. Goods are good quality to shoddy - the latter doesn't usually matter but in the case of electical goods they can supply stuff which is positively dangerous - do not believe the branding or conformity markings because these are faked. So I'd never buy anything mains-powered from them.

The existence of invisible is everywhere I look.oO

Anyone have any advice for a wireless receiver like this to plug into a laptop that does have an aerial - good receipt. My wireless N transmitter is two rooms and two walls away.
