Nah, one of the branches of chain cleaning theory subscribes heavily to ultrasonic cleaners.

Personally I think it's not worth the time as it's not as simple as throwing it in, then coming back to a lovely clean chain. You have to still scrub the remaining dirt off the chain and then clean the ultrasonic cleaner itself. Not to mention actually having to remove and put the chain back on.

Mega faff. Chain bath is hard to beat. I do a bike clean in around 5 mins these days. Pushing 10 if I'm being fussy and getting into a bit of detailing.

I wouldn't go to the hassle of using it just for cleaning a chain, but if you're cleaning a derailleur after a winter of off-roading, or rejuvenating a forty year old part, they're pretty brilliant. Bike mechanic mate swears by them for restorations.

Yeah this makes more sense, doing a big deep clean on a bunch of stuff every few months or so.

I got some weird looks after I lol'ed in the office
I've owned one of these for 2 years. Really good for cleaning eye glasses, watch straps (I wouldn't've believed the amount of dirt that collects in a clasp), DE razor, and various bits and pieces. I just use water, or water with a drop of vinegar or washing-up liquid. Yes, it sits in a cupboard most of the time, but a very useful item.

That will often get it going but it's not enough as it leaves residue from the liquid on the circuit board which can cause problems later.

Is this what opticians use to get glasses so clean, and would it harm lenses ?!
