    No auto power off.
Better to spend a little more and get one with that.
Chances are battery will be dead when you come to use it.

Any good ones around this price ?

Need a cheap DMV to replace my 2 decade old fluke.

Would keep the fluke if its working and get nice probes

Plenty of better options for not much more, uni-t, extech (made by FLIR),.Martindale or one of the RS own brand ones.

Loads of these for sale on eBay for about £7.50

Yep just generic copies. Does the job though for general stuff.

On my second one of these, last one lasted 5 years before I broke it dropping it from great heights. Perfect bit of kit for the price and never had any issues 👌

Edit I use it mainly for low voltage access control and minimal mains power appliances. (edited)

Those leads are terrible, I would not be using it for mains power.

Anyone found any auto ranging meter deals? Not going anywhere near mains I don't go above 20V.

This Astro seems like a pretty good deal, I know a lot of people use them but are they that reliable? 15 minute auto shut off on something that's £12 seems a bargain.

I would not go anywhere near mains power with this.

Might be fine for measuring mains AC voltage upto 230v but certainly not current.

    Thanks for posting this deal.

For the non cognisant, what's the difference with the Digiflex model? They seem copy cap from one another, but are there any technical differences. The descriptions don't give much in that sense.

Can this be used on car battery?
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
For voltage, reistance and amps yes. However do NOT put the leads across the battery when measuring amps or resistance.

If you need something with more accuracy and 20K resolution then you can't go wrong with a Kaiweets HT118E or you can spend a bit more and get a Uni-T UT61E+ but for a cheap meter you can't go wrong with what the OP posted

This isn't really a deal to be honest as this is the normal price. Can be had for £9 quite often too. I have one of these and it's decent for the money if you're just wanting to check the voltage on your car battery etc. I definitely would not use this for high voltage stuff though.
    ashyt16turbo's avatar
May as well go for the cheaper version for general stuff.

This is one of the DT830B multimeters with a different case.
I would rather get a 6000 count or 10000 count Aneng oder so multimeter for a slightly higher price.

"6000 count or 10000 count Aneng oder so multimeter" could you try that again as its hard to understand ?
