UMAMI Was £2.99 Now 74p - Taste #5 Laura Santtini UMAMI DUST (Tesco instore)

Dropped from £2.99 to 74p

Been meaning to post this since I bought some last week. Spotted that theyd now reduced the (MSG free) Taste #5 Umami stuff. Still loads on the shelf today. Appreciate that this is a bit niche (prob why theres plenty on the shelf still). But for those that were tempted to try it, 74p is better than £2.99. This is the natural MSG free version & has such powdered delights inside such as Anchovy, tomatoes. lemon peel & dried Mushrooms, Different to the paste (which is what Ive had before) but for 74p I took a punt as I was having chips for me tea and fancied a dabble.

Worth having a look at the top shelf of the spices (loads of yellow labels), loads of other funky, weird and wonderful things to try that have been discounted.

TASTE #5 UMAMI DUST

Following the world-wide success of the original Taste #5 Umami all-natural 'flavour bomb' paste, Laura Santtini has now released a new powdered version. From an original recipe, this super savoury table seasoning has no added salt or sugar and will transform your food at the table and in the pan.
*Umami = Savo{u}ry 'Deliciousness' the scientifically proven fifth taste.

Designed to turn any savoury dish into a culinary delight, the Taste #5 dust is made from a combination of everyday Mediterranean ingredients, including natural umami, lemon peels, garlic, balsamic vinegar, anchovies, Porcini mushrooms and tomatoes.

HOW DO I USE IT?

Add it to dips, dressings, sauces, gravies and marinades, use it as a seasoning on meats, poultry, fish, tofu and vegetables or add to soups, pastas, risottos, stir-fries and casseroles.

Better stock up - a reduction like this probably means it's been delisted!

I think youre right, theres a good 20 or so (Barts etc) that also have decent yellow label discounts. Whiffs of a major clearout. So its worth a nosey if you fancy trying/stocking a few new spice blends to try. I bought another today, but thats it for me. So theres plenty for a few others to go grab some.
Would be an impulse buy if I spotted this

Doubt my local sells this, so will stick to MSG.

Thats why I bought it. Not worth a specific journey, but next time youre in its worth checking, as even our local smaller one had it.
I got some last week, the paste was on offer too but all the tubes were 8 months OOD! Pleased really because it tastes 'orrible.

The paste is stronger. But I really liked it. Obviously not from the tube! But it was nice in me Ox Cheek Stew
The powder is far more dainty. I even mixed it with Mayo for me Chip Dip. Tasty!
