Got a m&s one like this last year for the bedroom, and for the price they are not bad, if you tweak the settings, the sound is ok if you put the base up .

But I stuck it through my old sony surround sound and it's ok through that .

Blu ray looks ok, and sky hd is nice as well.

For the price it's well worth it if you only want to spend £200 .

@£200 It has to be a great deal for some....

My god that's a bargain kids

i haven't heard of the UMC brand, are they a good brand? and what's the quality like?

UMC make TV's for a lot of different brands including Technika/Tesco. I've found them to be far better quality than Vestel built TV's like Finlux for example. Excellent find!

I've got a UMC M40, Samsung panel in it. Great set for the money.

umc tvs are made by sky media and if they breakdown they dont fix them. if you are under warranty great they will replace or refund but after that you are on ya own.

I think Sky Media is the UK service arm of UMC, Sky Media don't manufacture TV's

Like most tvs then....

Damn that's a good deal.

I was hovering over the 'buy it now' button for a few seconds, then I realised it doesn't have a built in DVD player, which is annoying.... and I don't want an extra device floating around in the bedroom! meh.

Good luck with finding a set this size with built in DVD.

That one is a refurb tv, better waiting for a new one as there have been some great prices recently.

Cheers.

The UMC one is on Dabs for £240. I've been looking at that with a while.

I'll wait another few weeks before I take the plunge I think in the hope something good that will deliver over here will pop up.

not bad, but does this come with a warranty? and what kind if anyone knows?

Damn, that sucks. Have to rule this one out then.

Just bought one. Been wanting to replace a horrible old 27" TV in the front room for a long time. The decent TV is in my room, this should be ideal for Mum

good reviews.. Nice spec... stylish looking.. ordered and voted HUMID

Just ordered, never owned anything above 32 inch and for 1080p full HD a USB port and 3 HDMI ports you can't argue with £200 for a 39 inch tv!!

HOT!

thought full hd meant 1080p but actually it's only hd ready 1080i. Regret getting it now.

if they havent despatched it you could try cancelling

These no-brand TVs might be cheap for the screen size, therefore a hot deal for short term, but I doubt it'll last/stop working and you'd need to buy another TV, so it's not a hot deal long term wise. Would make more sense to go for a Sony / Panasonic if you can afford it. I'm just speaking from friends/family experience. So not voting either way - just a heads up - don't hurt me!

how long do you reckon this tv will last then? probably 5 years if you are lucky

Is the difference between HD Ready and HD proper noticeable at 39" ?

I'm annoyed because I bought this for gaming and with the new consoles out next month will I be missing out if I use this TV?

Where have you seen specs that it's 1080i?

That's what it outputs when I connect it to my PS3.

Probably not even 1 year...which might be OK because then you could get it repaired or replaced under the standard one year warranty...or you might get lucky with five years... but I wouldn't trust it to...up to you...

think saying it wont last a year is a bit harsh

According to the manual its 1080p for the 39" model

skymediauk.co.uk/Dow…pdf

True. Tweaked the PS3 output settings and it now displays in 1080p. However, how does 1080p HD ready compare to proper 1080p HD Full? So confusing.

1080P is 1080P, HD Ready is just words, go by the numbers.

Anyone go for the lifetime warranty on this? The inbox flyer advertises it at £39.99 but online I'm getting a price of £59.99

Munkster

ASDA write HD READY yet it is actually 1080p with regards to their Polaroid televisions.

Mine arrived today, I'm really pleased. Thanks OP. I previously had the 40" Evotel TV that was posted on here nearly 3 years ago for £249.99 that I paid for in Argos Vouchers that I've sold for £150. This one looks so much sleeker. Also had the flyer for lifetime warranty.

The lifetime warranty is £59.99 not £39.99 as it is 39". Still not bad though.

I still haven't got mine yet Had to open a case with them through eBay, as I have not had a reply to any message yet. It's been like 3 weeks now
