wow. Any reviews for this?

Manufactures website :

The link isn't working.

Looks similar to a lot of the other Chinese brands doing the rounds on here, Lenovo Note K3, Elephone P7000, Jiayu S3 etc. I'm guessing it'll come with similar issues impacting on day to day use, along with the threat of inbuilt malware (See Jiayu S3 in threads on here)?

I'm all for trying one of these phones but when I travel I need reliability and a stable phone, so I'll be sticking with my Galaxy S3 for now

mmmm, this has OTG, thats rare on these phones.
If the GPS and digital compass works, I'm in..

i'm struggling to decide between this, the S3 and the ecoo e04 as they all have the 4G band 20.....ecoo seems to have overheating issues and limited rom support, S3 seems to have more support but a bit boring and this seems really good but no idea what umi are like?? Help!!

I looked at a umi hammer for a friend, and on here it was said it was great.
But I found one review saying whilst gps worked, it was slow to get a fix, didn't seem to "see" many satellites either.
It summed up that it wasn't suitable to normal navigation use.

So, mediatek + gps?
Shame but it's the only downside for me with these. (not all Chinese phones have the problem, xiaomi for example, don't)

This is definitely the best looking out of all those Chinese phones.

hmm - that a bit rubbish if the GPS is poor as that's essential for me

are focal price the best site for these chinese phones? The fact they don't take paypal makes a bit nervous as at least that provides a level of protection....

I thought they took PayPal?
I'd love to hear several people with mediatek chip phones say if gps was useable or not...

Have had a couple of Mediatek based phones and not had any noticable problems with GPS. I think the first one we had (some 3 years ago) had a slow fix, but some free app sorted that out.

Not always, but HUKD doesn't allow you to post deals willy nilly, especially from retailers that aren't well known.

I have had 3 mediatek phones including the hammer. I use a free app called GPS status and fix by mark pfluger from the playstore. all the phones have been good

Out of all the recent high spec Chinese phones this one has my attention, looks a nice bit of kit. 1949deal have them in stock from 14/7 for a tad more at £111 and being in Singapore chances are you'll see it in a week or so. Would have been nice to see shipping via Swiss or Netherlands post..

Just been looking through my history for that site. Yes if it's shipped via NL I'd say that's the best bet. It will take significantly longer to arrive from experience than 1949 but chances are you won't have gideon's minions with their hands out and royal mail following closely from the rear looking for their pound of flesh..

Iris scanner just in case you want to share more personal information as there is a chance of spyware on Chinese phones.

Phone sounds great.
Oh Focalprice? Worthless warranty then.

Never again

But no doubt you would ignorantly upload all your information to American companies because FOX news haven't run any scare stories on them

Is there much support for these phones like roms and future android versions? Also is there Chinese apps on it? Thanks

just been looking at 4g on this phone . dont think its compatible with o2

Out of all these chinese companies Focal Price are by far and away the worst I've ever dealt with and I've dealt with them, DX, Banggood, Gearbest, Geekbuying, and probably many others I can't think of right now. Geekbuying, imo, are by far the best with the best customer service.

To be honest, this brand has launced 3-4 types of smart phone since 2011.But their Chinese website, forum disapperared in 2013 suddenly due to poor support, and reveiws. They have been suggested with no updates, no roms, and very poor customer service (does not matter here, cuz anyway you wont get warrenty in the UK).
It is very doutful about the quality for this new product.
I would go for Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi or ZTE as they are big brand in China and got success for the quality of their product.
I have a phablet called 'Luftcon' which is a small brand. And I dropped the phone from about 1m high on the floor and the screen is broken.
Also, you hardly trade out unbranded phone in Cex to get the small amount of value after you dont want to use the phone anymore.

Think you're right - i thought this one had the band 20 but maybe not. Not sure it's really a deal breaker for me or not since 4g is a pipedream where i live and work but it doesn't exactly future proof it....

The website states

4G: LTE FDD800/1800/2600

Isn't 800Mhz band 20?

Like the look of this one as I decided to let the p8000 deal go

i ordered one this morning, for what its worth the specs are fanstatic

Any 32gb internal storage phones out there? Be more interested in one then.

Another review I came across is about it is not true bezel less as there is a black frame surrounding the display, as per the picture. Nothing wrong with that for the asking price but I prefer to wait for xiaomi mi5i as there are rumour it could come with expandable memory.

elephone p6000 is a dud for navigation. it sees all the same satellites as my other android devices but has a weaker signal according to GPS test.

Seem a very good spec for the price, need to check the issues. Heat added
American site so add import duties must be around 20%
