follow the link for many, many EXTREME features.......even touch ID is EXTREME apparently! Lots of phone for the cash but watch out for the customs charges if it gets stopped, 20% + whatever "fee" they levy on the paperwork...could easily take this to a £250+ item... heat for the spec at the standard pricing though....

Looks good on paper. Heat from me

Is the CPU on this better than the Lenovo P2? Looks like it has slightly better specs but unlikely to ever get any updates (though Lenovo aren't exactly renowned for that either).

Looks like it could be comparable to the Oneplus 3T, but i'm no tech expert. Great price though!

I've got one of these and totally unimpressed. I think UMI have lied ref specs, Antutu scores this in the early 60k region whereas the Redmi Note 4 I have is a shade below 80k, UMI has 6gb RAM and Redmi only 3gb yet Redmi Antutu RAM score is higher?
Also this phone constantly drops wifi and can only be remedied with a reboot.
Construction is not great either, the buttons rattle a little when you shake the phone, not exactly precision engineering.
The camera is pretty pants too, worse than in the UMI Super (which wasn't great in itself)
On the plus side, it looks nice, the display is ok and the loudspeaker is pretty loud.

A couple of days before I got UMI Plus E, UMI announced the UMI Z which is their new flagship, and I get the feeling that this phone will be dropped pretty quickly.

On the whole though I massively regret my purchase and cannot recommend this.

It sure is getting upgraded to Android 7 - Nougat, but doubt will get Android 8...

I am really interested in UMI, been reading lots about them, and quality of their products seems very hit and miss.
Longevity seems to be questionable, with many people saying they stop working after 6-12 months, and buying direct from China guarantees you virtually no backup.
I've also read the large amounts of RAM memory in these Chinese phones might sound a good headliner, but they require this amount to run smoothly due to poor coding and quality of the software loaded on to the phones. How true that is, I can't confirm?!
Might try my luck if one drops to around the £125 mark!

Surely the 80,000 is for the power sapping Mediatek X20 CPU, not the the 625 CPU on the alternative flavoured Redmi.

Yep I don't think the Snapdragon Redmi 4 Note is out yet, only recently announced
Honestly don't really have too much of a problem with the X20 though, Mediatek seem to have upped their game in some respects but that's by virtue of adding a couple of extra cores other than improving the process that the chip is built on.
Having said that they've moved to 16 nm for the P20 in the UMI PLUS E and that doesn't seem to have helped much.. M

Your post echos how I felt when I bought my umi zero. Did you buy a umi zero also, if you did. Why on earth did you buy a umi again?

Nah. I had an UMI Super and liked that, but got rid of it for my Redmi (I get a new phone every couple of months, gotta have a hobby eh)

But UMI have totally blotted their copybook with this one and I don't think I'd buy one of their phones again.
