Thats a 5 year old phone .
Probably doesn't get updates anymore.
This would be a better option .
I wouldn't expect the camera to be amazing but OK .
But the S6 edge camera is only only OK compared to today's cameras.

Need one with a better camera. That's all

Try and stretch budget to £200 and get an iphone 7 or maybe 7 plus renewed on Amazon or people sell new ones on gumtree for £200-£225 .
The cameras on the iPhone 7 are still really high quality and sometimes take better pictures than my S10 plus .
Check reviews on YouTube out .

My old s6 stopped receiving updates last march
Hello MrSwitch, I don't know much about this make, but, in case it helps, this other model that seems to have better specs is available today on Amazon Italy with code SCONTICN010 (should be applied automatically) at 168 euro (plus shipping?), is it a good deal?

Not bought from Umidigi before. Is there any sort of aftercare, or are you on your own once purchased?
Edited by: "MRBFR" 2nd Dec 2019
I tried a Umidigi phone about a year ago and whilst the specs were great, it was awful to use and the camera was the worst I've experienced on any smartphone.
I've had the Play version (6/64GB) of this for a few months now and it is a fast decent phone.

However I've given up using the fingerprint facility, just doesn't work as it should despite clearing and resetting the fingerprint 2, 3 times now. Not the end of the world but annoying.

The other issue I still have is that calls in and out cut off at about the 1 minute mark, then the call has to be ended twice to clear it. If I switch to 3G the problem disappears. I suspect it may well be an issue with my VOXI sim. I need to investigate further.

I got mine from China so not even bothering to do any customer service thing.
I wouldn't buy any no name Chinese branded phone or tablet as been burnt in the past. Specs are usually great but performance never matches and reliability is suspect. The only Chinese brands I'd trust are the one's that have a presence in the UK market Huawei, Honor & Xiaomi etc.

Umidigi aren't a no name Chinese brand, they are quite well known over here
I bought one of these from this seller on Amazon earlier in the year, purely on the specs. Nice looking phone, well built, but dogged by multiple software issues, random shutdowns and overheating, making it unusable. I returned it for a full refund.
I had one but sent it back, the camera was absolute garbage. I bought a Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro instead.

Possibly. Possibly not. Umidigi aren't known for their high quality products. They sit firmly in the budget niche. Whilst this phone is more technologically modern than the Samsung, Samsung will have used premium components when they built your phone.

If you want to buy a phone with a superior camera at this price point, go for the Xiaomi Note 8T. Xiaomi don't mess around on that front:

They're not a brand that has a reputation for quality though. All these smaller Chinese phone brands are similar. I've had a cubot, ulefone and Doogee phone in the past and neither offered a quality experience. Camera's were always poor and software slow and laggy and in the case of cubot it spammed me ads.

You post lots of brilliant phone deals especially from Xiaomi and Huawei so I'd recommend people to look at your other excellent deals instead

Ditto. I'd never trust the specs on Chinese lesser known branded phones again.
I bought an Elephone S3 a few years back and it was terrible, bordering on dangerous. Overheating so bad, it used to burn me when charging! Nightmare.
just bought it in red, topped up £80 to get an additional £6 off so hone cost £122.

The camera had a couple of ota updates since release and it makes a massive difference apparently.
Not heard of issues with the fingerprint sensor, but the face unlock speed looks very impressive

Spec is bang on for this money imo.
