Review:
David Dunn's marriage is crumbling, and he's thinking of moving to New York. Then when he's coming home from a job interview, his train derails and he is the only survivor. More than that, he doesn't have a scratch on him.

David is contacted by Elijah Price, who runs a comic book art gallery and suffers from a genetic condition that makes his bones very easy to break. Elijah has been a comic book fan all his life, and has developed a theory that they are what remains of an ancient system of storytelling, and the superheroes they are about are based on real people.

Elijah believes David may be one of these people. He has hardly ever been injured or sick, and he has tremendous strength, plus an uncanny ability to tell if someone is about to or has done something bad. David doesn't know what to think about the theory, or Elijah himself. However, events soon conspire to convince him he may be a superhero after all.

Great

Not a great movie.

Be warned! This is one of those special editions where theres no reason the content couldnt just be on one disk. In fact, the movie doesnt even have a commentary so it feels more like a bare bones package. Its essentially the film on one disk and a couple of fairly boring featurettes on the second.

I've been looking for a cheap copy of this for ages, let alone the special edition. You have just saved me hunting around. Buying it now, great film.

this is such a rubbish film, even tho it stars Bruce willis and jackson....the story line is pants

Fancy buying it... snapping the disc and sending it back with a note:
"No it wasn't"

Got to disagree here. Do you understand the film? It's a the classic tale of good vs evil told in a much more realistic setting.
It's intentionally multi-layered so that you can pick up nuances missed first time around, much like the director's debut, Sixth Sense.

I understand the film.......then edind was so rubbish !!!

we were all like "is that it"

I have to disagree, a top movie. I thought so the first time around, and the following times I've watched it also. I'm not into supernatural/sci fi movies, but this was really good.

If that was your reaction then you probably didn't understand it.
*SPOILER* He was a super hero, someone like Superman perhaps. Mr Glass was his arch-nemesis. Willis' character David Dunn even had a name reminiscent of Marvel & DC characters (Peter Parker, Clark Kent, Lois Lane...) which was a clue.
By the end of the film you could see what it had all led up to and that Dunn was to take his role as a super hero. Note the ending with his long, cloak-like coat.

It isn't an in-your-face type of movie and is actually quite soft and slow at times giving you more time to take in all the details.
An absolutely top class film which makes me wonder how someone can have such a reaction. :?
If you could rewrite it then what ending would you choose?

All i can say is not one of Willis's or jackson's best films .....
