Underworld:
For centuries, two races have evolved. Hidden deeply within human culture - the aristocratic, sophisticated Vampires, and the brutal, feral Lycans (werewolves). To humanity, their existence is no more than a whisper of a myth. But to each other, they are the lifelong mortal rivals, sworn to wage a secret war until only one race is left standing. In the midst of this ongoing struggle, a Vampire warrior, Selene (Kate Beckinsale), discovers a Lycan plot, a secret that has terrifying repercussions for both tribes - a plot to awaken a new invincible species of predator that combines the strengths of both creatures and the weaknesses of neither.

Underworld Evolution:
As the feud between vampires and werewolves escalates to new heights, so too does Underworld Evolution, delivering a veritable feast of bloodthirsty power, forbidden love and sweeping vengeance.

The Underworld saga continues as hunted Vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale) seeks out Marcus (Tony Curran), king of the Vampires, in the hope of bargaining for her life. Hybrid Michael (Scott Speedman) wants to join Selene in her quest but is unable to trust the werewolf raging uncontrolled inside him, and she refuses his companionship. Their love proves more powerful than genetics, however, when Marcus descends upon Selene, intent on annihilating her. In the battle that ensues, Selena discovers that she has been betrayed by her own family and she sets out to seek her revenge.

Each - as in the title:thumbsup:

Cracking films, the 1st film is the extended version too as standard, although my copy came from the US I think so don't know if this would be the same for the UK version.

A great film, and a superb transfer (according to blu-ray.com). I've gone for this - Cheers!

Heat added

Been looking at these for a while but dont suppose they will get much cheaper

Got both of them

It should be noted that the review mentioned refers to the US release which is regarded as being superior to the UK version, in both sound and picture quality.

Why is it any different? Not being scarcastic. Just interested.

The US disc was produced by Sony whilst the UK one was released by EIV. The major difference between the two is in the sound. The UK release only has a basic 5.1 soundtrack. The Sony includes the vastly superior English 5.1 PCM at 4.6mbps as well as English 5.1 Dolby Digital 5.1 at 640 kbps.

Underworld is a movie full of dark scenes and the Sony disc handles these better than the UK version. I remember when I first watched the UK version I was suprised at how shoddy some scenes looked. Still better than the dvd mind, but simply not as good as the US release.
