RAINSPORT 3

Fuel Efficiency: C Wet Grip: A Noise (dB): 71

Optimally combines the advantages of asymmetrical and directional tread patterns that result in shorter braking disances, high levels of grip when cornering, and a quieter interior noise throughout the lifetime of the tyre.
Benefits from 'Shark Skin' technology - which ensures that water is channeled more quickly out of the longitudinal grooves, resulting in greater protection against aquaplaning.
Designed with more grip edges which improve contact of the tyre with the road surface, resulting in shorter braking distances on wet surfaces.

Excellent tyre, they just wear far too quick.

Had these and didn't like them, just got the new Michelin CrossClimate from blackcircles and difference is like night and day. Can't see me buying anything else from now on tyrereviews.co.uk/Art…htm

Here's clearly sent that message from the future.

Had these on my VW corrado... was quite impressed with them.

Just needed a decent cheap set as was selling the car shortly after, but these were rather good!

Is 205/55/16 much more common than 195/55/16 (as found on a Mini)? Presume they'd fit anyway

Brilliant price for an epic tyre

I've been through many premium brands but nothing gives me grip and gets the power down anything like rainsport

Best tyre going and at that price not to be sniffed at

Had these on my one series for awhile, it looks a great price for a branded tyre. I found them fine, grippy and good in the wet as expected, though they did wear pretty heavily, which iirc seems to be an overiding comment from people.

Voucher code expired when I tried to buy?

why not the 17"

I need 4 new 205,55,17" for my Cooper S

Where would I get a full set of 215/45.R17 for a ford focus around Islington at a fair price?

Think I paid near £100/corner fitted, they lasted 12k. 225/50/17.

They gripped like hell but wore too quick.

Currently using Goodyear efficient grip performance, a little more pricey and wearing slightly better done nearly 10k and have 4mm left.

That was my experience too. Only lasted 6/8K on a Focus ST but greatly reduced wheel spin in the wet.

remember everyone asda sells tyres and they have contracts with various fitter's as well if that's any use to anyone :))

If you dont mind me asking; what were these like in the dry? And what tyres have you used before as a comparison?

195/55/16....

Thanks op,need some new rubber for the ashtray, these should do the deeds nicely.
Can't wear as fast as yokos so not too worried about that!

These are really good & grippy, but will wear out quickly due to soft compound!

The sidewalls are much stronger so I'm expecting them to wear more evenly. The Uniroyals grip well but wore out early on the edges and always looked like they needed inflating with roll in the corners. Michelin's grip like on rails wet and dry with more assurance in the turns, if it snows soon I'll let you know ;o)

215/45/17 on Lexus IS200 - Previously used all Rainsport 2 which were great, so thought when Rainsport 3 just came out, I would give them a go (not many reviews at beginning). They were cheap(ish) and gave very good wet grip. I wish I had waited 6 months and read the "wear problem" reviews, as my tyres had inside and outside wear, at the recommended tyre pressure, Some reviews (read too late) suggested increasing tyre pressure to compensate for the tyre softness. Small/light vehicles might not suffer this soft tyre problem?

At the end of the day, for me the price is HOT...but the uneven wear I experienced makes them COLD.

Booked two fitting next Tuesday. Perfect timing.
Thanks OP.

Nearest centre to me is in Chester !! bit of a trek from Glasgow lol . Never mind will need to get ripped off at some local garage instead.
