RAINSPORT 3
Fuel Efficiency: C / Wet Grip: A / Noise (dB): 72 / Noise (Bars): 2
Optimally combines the advantages of asymmetrical and directional tread patterns that result in shorter braking disances, high levels of grip when cornering, and a quieter interior noise throughout the lifetime of the tyre.
Benefits from 'Shark Skin' technology - which ensures that water is channeled more quickly out of the longitudinal grooves, resulting in greater protection against aquaplaning.
Designed with more grip edges which improve contact of the tyre with the road surface, resulting in shorter braking distances on wet surfaces.

Printable voucher for £5 off 2 new tyres.

You can get them for about £68 delivered for one and then they are about £63 from places like Camskill so I guess if your buying 4 then that's £40 on fitting costs at F1. But out of ease seems like a good price!

Why some cars ride and handle well on European roads but badly in the UK, and vice verse??

Lumpy roads

Can anyone tell me the difference between the xl version and the non xl version of this tyre?? Thanks

xl indicates extra load which increases the reinforcing of the sidewalls of the tyres for heavier vehicles or those with heavier loading capacities.

because they drive on the wrong side of the road, or maybe they put the front ones on the back.

Excellent tyre in the wet, unlike the slippery Bridgestones that came with my car. White hot at this price.

Great find, I've just ordered these in 255 35 19 for £108 @oponeo, f1 don't have them in my size

I have had uniroyals on all my cars even put them on the mrs car! The new rainsport 3 are great but be warned they are very soft I only got 6000 miles out of my front pair oO Great deal premium tyres at mid range price!

How to these compare to mich pilot 3..i know there more

Cheers, will see if I can cancel...that saving will pay for my fitting!

I bought a pair of these on Tuesday from Camskills in this size for £130 delivered - for those that don't have an F1 auto centre near to them.
Will be here today and hope the local tyre place will fit them for £20.

£61.89 per tyre at tyreleader

Clearly this company has something against the Scottish.

I recently looked on Tyreleder and on reviews picked the Goodyear efficient performance which was £80.36 a tyre as being the best. It was then price matched by my local KwikFit which was a much better deal than this

excellent tyres, have them on my A4, just bought 2 from Camskill for the wife's Q3. stick like glue in the wet, incredibly safe

Need 2 tyres for a Golf GTI soon, any thoughts on these Uniroyals vs Goodyear F1s?

KwikFit price matched Tyreleader which is non UK based company? - I'm really suprised.
What was the overall cost with fitting ?

As opposed to partly fitted?
A little like the fully licenced Indian restaurants!

These are good but the Goodyear Eagle F1s are better (but dearer).

i have heard these dont last that long.
anyone care to comment?

I was going to go for these exact ones through Camskill, but saw that the they wear out pretty fast and are assymetric which i don't care for. Went for the slightly more expensive Goodrich G Grip (Tyretraders I think) which I already had on the back (made by Michelin). These wear very much better.

uk roads are joke

read this

I've had a pair of these on the front of my Mondeo and they only lasted just over 7k as opposed to about 13k with other brands. Grip was excellent in the wet but they were quite noisy.

It would seem a large percentage of Scots have something against the rest of the UK (or only Westminster?) :-)
Edit: Maybe not the company, just the courier firm?

I had the rainsport 2's 225 45 17" on my zafira SRi ok in wet not brilliant...Nowhere as good as they used to be my outer walls cracked dangerously on both well before the tread wore down nver had a tyre go like this. prefer my Nangkang and Nexens and cheaper.....

Check your car REALLY carefully afterwards if using the Swindon branch.

True, they are a bit softer and do not last quite as long as normal tyres. They are also noisy and use more fuel, so overall it may or may not be worth it.

If you have the money, go for a top quality tyre. Michelin has never disappointed me - but of course they are significantly more expensive, so are Goodyear and Dunlop.

Indeed many of us do.

Make sure its a Michelin....

should only pay £10 per wheel to get them fitted... Go elsewhere if it costs more

I had rainsport 3's and now have Goodyear efficient grip performance, the RS3's had great grip however wore out very quickly, the Goodyear still has good grip (not as good), but are wearing much better.

I've had rainsport 2's in the past and find these also wear quick. I have been getting 10k out of the Uniroyals averagely, thats on a 2.0l Pug 3008, so nothing sporty.

I'm predicting 15k for the goodyears.

Terrible wear rates and soft side walls, if you have a light car you drive slowly then they should be ok and safer than cheaper harder compound tyres.

Have 4 of those waiting to be fitted to a Kuga so may wait and see what they are like.

These Uniroyals have XL index - so sidewalls will be stronger
