The truth is that at this price point you'd be better off with a basic bike (no suspension, etc) as there's then a better chance of the bits you do get being better quality. However, no doubt this is aimed at kids who want all of those things so it's a decent deal for something which will get abused/stolen in a short time. Check it regularly for safety issues though (also true if you spend a lot more).

Ignore the 'enthusiasts' (I'm being polite) who tell you anything under £1000 is rubbish. They may know what they're talking about but they just don't want to understand that these things are in a completely different area of the market.
