Normal price for Costco, not one of their special offers.
Do you need to pay a membership to get fuel?

Yes you do. You have to scan your card before you start, and they have people checking occasionally.

This has gone up if it's national. I paid 123.7 for diesel on Saturday
Diesel was cheaper than this at two supermarkets I passed this morning.
I paid 127.9 at Tesco on Saturday for diesel.
That sounds like premium unleadrs, not Diesel. Was 121.7 last week at Haydock
Why is Diesel more expensive, same tax cheaper than Petrol in most other countries.

What location is that Price for? 122.9 at Stevenage
Still way too high.....should be 80p / Lt and diesel is only a bi product, so really waste....
For now... With that drone strike it's likely to go up at some point. But we can only hope we don't have to pay too much

The government want you to stop using diesel cars
Yep a short while after recommending them, but it is not the "government" taking the dosh.
Shame their premium too a dip tho

UK refineries are more set up to produce petrol than diesel so diesel tends to be imported. Although I reckon there's some profiteering going on.
Stock up before the huge price jump in fuel as the Saudi oil fields are burning

Interesting, I once had a long chat with an American who had travelled the world in the oil industry and told me many of the scams employed, I do remember him telling me Diesel was a by-product of refining and had low value, not anymore it seems.
I'm gonna fill up today too.
Can imagine a que like the year 2000 etc
Well with these savings.... I'd be a whole £4 better off on a full tank that's the mortgage taken care of this month!

But don’t forget when the price of oil falls the petrol and energy companies tell us they can’t pass these savings on as they all buy their fuel a year in advance

Watch now as all those supplies and pre-purchase deals suddenly vanish and prices shoot up!

Up like a rocket, down like a feather!
anyone knows what water percentage they add?
Just note that Costco sell the Premium (with higher RON and cleaning additives) variant of Unleaded and Diesel, so you should be comparing this price with the others such Shell V-Power and other premium fuel.
38472996-mPfsZ.jpg£1.217 / litre for me this morning Premium Diesel
Get it while it lasts. Price of crude oil shot up 10% since this morning
The one in Trafford Centre always judges it by having it 2p a litre cheaper than the Asda next to it for Diesel and Normal unleaded but the super unleaded is 129.9p

Different customer base. Diesel is used by public transport, road haulage, aeroplanes and factories. Petrol more or less cars only.

There are lots of factors that can push up the price of diesel. If the Chinese ramp up factory production for Xmas, Chinese New Year etc that increases demand for diesel and you will feel that at the pumps.

Then why do other country's sell it cheaper? The price variance is constant and why should Chinese New Year make a difference?
I’m in Lanzarote at the moment as of yesterday it was under 1€ a litre!
Just paid 63 pence per litre of LPG

World supply of diesel contracts when the Chinese grab it all for their factories. It pushes the price way above petrol. Local supply and demand also plays a part. If manufacturing production drops here because people aren’t buying, then demand for diesel drops as does the price at the pump.

Add to the fact that the tax on diesel varies from country to country. For a long time diesel was half the price of petrol in France because it was seen as a “clean” fuel.

Basically, there isn’t one single factor that affects the price of diesel in the UK or anywhere else, it is a combination of them.

Compare the normal Costco unleaded price with other standard unleaded and the Premium Costco unleaded with Shell V-power and co, although Costco recently went from RON99 to RON97 for its premium unleaded. All the Costco variants of fuel have a good complement of detergents.

Mine aims to be a penny cheaper than Asda Metrocentre - no more and no less. There is price variation between the Costco branches.

UK duty on petrol and diesel per litre is the same, therefore differences in price between the 2 are not down to the Government, but the supply chain.

In other countries where diesel pump prices are significantly cheaper, the government will be giving diesel a tax break.

More people with diesel cars means less money for the refineries and petrol stations (and government) as you fill up less often, so the price ballooned up from a traditional 2p a litre difference to 10p a litre difference a few years ago and seems to have closed up again recently.

The gap used to always open up to 6p a litre in winter when heating oil production (and demand) goes up
Filled up today

If any nation in the world was to introduce breathing tax, or at least propose it, it would be Britian, we even have "congestion" charges, "ultra low emissions charges" "sugar tax" "tv tax" 20% VAT on top of everything we buy stuff with the money we have left after paying tax and many more which I can't be bothered listening

We pay one of the highest prices for petrol in the world, we also pay one of the highest to own a car because of all the MOT, Road Tax, Insurance, Petrol we have to deal with
