Hate these petrol "deals" and vote cold but this one seems a genuinely good one especially the diesel so nice one HEAT !

What!!!! Voting hot. Tempted to head to berks from Heathrow.

If only there was a specialised website to tell you where the best petrol prices are, oh wait there is petrolprices.com/ (_;)

Annoys me how cheap these prices are outside of London

Lowest in MK is 123.9

Unfortunately most of these deals are one day only, especially the regular ESSO daily specials, and as the information from petrolprices.com is generally one day behind it's no help for deals like this

It isnt up to date enough

Yesterday Esso near me in Glasgow was 121.9p and 123.9p but petrol prices shows the price from earlier in the week

As the previous post said these are one day specials, the station near me (Glasgow Mearns Cross) does it two days a week always between mon to friday, so looks like a network of Esso stations (probably not the Tesco ones) are doing this across the country, so the deal is check if your local Esso station (non tesco) has a big sign outside saying either "cheap petrol here today" or "cheap petrol here two days a week"

I didn't realise the blackpool asda was only 1.237 but im always weary about supermarket fuels. Shell/Esso and BP would be my preference but usually find BP's are the most expensive.

No need to be worried about supermarket fuels. Esso supplies the big 4 supermarkets with their fuel. It just has less of the additives that clean your engine.

Blimey, that's risen quickly.

Not sure about that. I work for one of the big 4 supermarkets and its not Esso that supplies us but one of the other major petrol names. But you should be correct as i could not see it being cost effective for say Esso to have two different grades (other than normal and premium) for the ones they supply ,in their depos labelled up "Good stuff for our garages" and another labelled up "Supermarket crap".

Should read this:

Grassy knowl

why cant we adopt the American way of pumping petrol...you pay the cashier before you pump!! yes ok we have card readers at the pump. It'll cut a lot of theft surely??

Today filled at 123.9p !!

The best fuel to buy these days is that which is along a route you are already travelling for another journey, obviously assuming that the price is halfway sensible.

The money saved by finding a garage a penny or two cheaper will be at best marginal if a special journey is made or could actually cost you more if you are going out of your way. Even if it is just 5 miles away, that is a 10 mile round trip, a third of a gallon on average, which equates to ~£2, and that is before you factor in the value of your own time.

2p a litre saving on a 40 litre tank is only 80p saved, and that assumes you are running on vapour.

Agreed. Can't believe in this day and age people still fall for guff like that. There are bigger things to worry about like the increased use of ethanol and how it dissolves cheap chinese cheese fuel pipes that are prevalent on Ebay

Supermarket fuel is just the same as ESSO, BP and all the other big brand b*ullsh*tters

It always reminds me of this
