Unlimited (All You Can Eat) Internet Add On to Pay Monthly phone. 3 Network £3pm

Found 20th Dec 2011
I know that this is not for everyone but bear with me on this and please do not dismiss this as it will only apply to anyone on amonthly contract with 3 network.

I called thier customer services today to get an add on for my daughters phone which should have beem £5.11 per month for 2 Gb.
I told the guy I spoke to that I knew someone who got this add on for £3 and could he do that same deal or jokingly any better.
He said he would look at my account (old plan out of contract, which is more than suitable for my daughter lots texts & minutes and very very cheap) and my account for this one is £9 month. I have 3 contracts with them, wifes, daughters and mine. No problems with the network only thier customer services, but not this time.
He came back and said he could do thier All you Can Eat internet add on for £3 month inc VaT. I of course snapped his hand off and said thank you very much. The only stipulation was that it was not for linking to a laptop (tethering) and only for the phone.
That is literally unlimited, no caps or restrictions.
As said only good if you already have a monthly contract with them
Result.

This has been available for all contracts since September I think, and I'm sure it has been posted here as well.

How the hell did you get a deal like that for £9 per month. That is some serious contract deal. I've got four contracts with 3 paying £10 per month each , and I'm not getting anywhere near that and I thought I was a good negotiator. Heat added for your existing deal and I think I will be calling 3 tomorrow.

renewed my Vodafone contract today:
1200 mins any network
unlimited texts
unlimited landlines
500 MB
bt openzone
100 mms
free 0800/0845
ha ha ha
£15.00 month sim only
(they said 12 mths i said make it 24 mths

any network is good long as you have a good signal where you live i got nothing against any network but you you cannot beat Vodafone as you if you have weak signal at home you can use sure signal box

lol why would you state u want a longer contract?

i know 3 all you can eat data is good i brought a dongle with 3GB i used max 500 MB it runs out next week (where are you gonna use that unless your wife kicks you out of the house over Christmas)
merry xmas
enjoy

i can understand a deal being good but even if it was 12 months it would roll over on a monthly basis afterwards anyway so u can cancel and possibly negotiate even better, asking for an extra 12 months seems strange unless im missing something?

Never mind the data deal, the real deal is this:

I too would like to know if that is on offer. Is there a handset included? Details please OP, if you would be so kind.

Possibly most-recently discussed from same deal posted 6 weeks ago:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/three-can-eat-data-unlimited-data-for-3-per-month-extra-existing-customers-only-1051332
and worth mentioning that "all you can eat data" does not formally include wifi nor cable tethering that is otherwise only available within 3's One Plan contracts.

OK for you guys that asked. No handset. Have been with 3 network since they started just about so a loyalty reduction is included after 1st year. Then got a new handset and a better deal with larger loyalty discount. Then every so often I would call them and get a bit more added on until I now have the above deal on daughters sim card. For example once I called to say that needed more text allowance and the add on for that was I think £5 at the time for 1000 texts and I haggled and got them to add 2000 for same price. Did the same with minutes earlier than that. Then every so often said phone was playing up and out of warranty and contract so I am off unless you can persuade me to stay so get a new phone to stay with same expired contract. They want to keep customers. I have had a lot of trouble with thier Indian customer services including several times requesting to speak to someone who I can understand what they are saying and no disrepect to them but with english as a second language it is not always easy to understand. I have either been passed to a better spoken Indian or on a few occasions been transferred back to Scotlands central office. If I were to upgrade now with a new handset I would more than likely lose some or all of the loyalty discount. And I don't think I will do that. I do also have 2 other contracts with them so 3 phones in all, all on different expired contracts which enables me to haggle more from them as I can leave at any time, well that's what I tell them. I then get a phone that the daughter likes and carry on with my old phone as I do not need an all singing all dancing phone so only really change my phone every 3-5 years. Hell with this deal I could probably buy an Iphone 4S with the savings I am making. The secret to this deal is time, a little extra every so often adds up. So this deal is not available as it is a personal one made up over time. And with the daughter being early 20's uses a lot of texts and internet, Facebook etc. so ideal for her and her pocket. Hope that answers a few questions friends.

do you get any data with the above tariff?

the existence of such a box is a direct admittance that their coverage is sh**.

also, vodafone, t mobile & O2's definition of 'unlimited internet' is 'not a lot really' when their unfair usage policies are applied. 3's definition of 'unlimited' is 'without limit, as much you can, no limits'

sarcasm?

it's a DATA ad on!

This tarrif is good. my wife enjoys bbc iplayer, tvcatchup and streaming online radio on her iphone all the time. Unfortunately it doesnt allow tethering, which is available only to The One Plan custmers.

3 is not bad. signal can be weak and unstable in rural areas/on some part of motorways and in old or low level buildigs. there are also some dead spots in Bristol (where I live) but generally I don't have much problems with it as they have improved a lot in past 2 years. Moreover, they are (or going to) share network with Orange/TMobile so the quality of signal must be good in many areas.

of coz they have got network problems (and what network has not?) but anytime I notice any significant problem - I call the customer care and complain about, so usually manage to get at least £5 compensation for the inconvinience (they call it 'a good will gesture':)). I have been with them for about 5 years and managed to get a really good deal (The One Plan for just £8/m) but usually they are rubish in providing good offers to the old customers. It may be cheapper to get a new contract via quidco rather then extending an old contract via the Customer Sevice.

Tasha Yar.

I'm on the 1 Plan for £8 a month...

2000 mins
5000 texts
Truly unlimited internet
3000 3 to 3 minutes
Free voicemail
Free MSN messenger
Free Skype calls

12 month contact and rolling month by month after that...

Haggling and staying loyal to one provider was the key here...

This is a good price, I'm sure it was an extra fiver before to upgrade the data. I've got an iPhone with 3 with 1gb data though and I haven't gone over it in over a year so won't be upgrading.

Personally I've found 3 to be a very good network. Best coverage I've had so far (especially 3g, can't beat it). Haven't had any problems with customer service but I haven't had a need to call them yet.

I remember being in "you're not getting out until you buy a phone" Phones4u and they were slating 3 saying they don't use them because they're so s**t etc and Apple don't support them. Strange you can go into an Apple store and buy a 3 contract... Nothing to do with commission then you lying, vile phone shop.

Terrible...Terrible company, just hope you never have to call their customer services.

I love the sales pitch 'All you can eat'

reminds of those lunchtime buffet offers X)

Great deal

customer services would not allow me to have the £3pcm all you can eat data.
told them other people have had it so they asked me for their numbers which i didn't have

I've been tethering for almost a year on 3 now with a 2gb allowance. They don't seem to care. I'm out of contract so not bothered if they terminate.

I've had a 3 pay as you go sim in my iPhone 4 for the last 10 months and have never had anything to gripe about. I was with o2 for 6 years previously and the internet on 3 seems a lot more quicker and responsive. I struggled to get a signal 90% of the time at work with o2, and now receive a full signal on 3.

Three's signal isn't as bad as a lot of people make out. It didn't used to be too clever a few years ago and people still rate them based on back then.

Customer service however is another issue. Im happy to be on pay as you go with them as there are no tie ins, but I wouldn't take out a contract with them due to their call centres being based abroad. I've never had to deal with them, but I know others on contracts who have and its hard work!

You can tether but you can't stick your sim in a Mifi or any data only dongle!

I dont have any problem wifi tethering on my plan
I use it for xbox live if i get problems with my adsl

Talk 500
Internet 500mb
Internet add-on 2048mb
3 to 3 Minutes 5000

£8 a month

I presumed that was good until i seen people on the one plan for the same price

Good deal for ones that need the data. It seems to be the time to try and get new deals from three. I got a new Sony Ericsson Arc S with 500 mins, unlimited text, unlimited three to three minutes and 1 gb of data for £15 on a 18 month contract. I was tempted by this as watching streaming video on this is better than my old wildfire but I am waiting to see how good the Free wifi cloud cover Sky is rolling out early next year. If its anything like BT then I will hardly need my data allowance at all.

Don't think it's full network sharing ala Everything Everwhere (Orange + T-Mobile) but rather under the guise of MBNL (3 + T-Mobile) and their mast sharing. So if it does go ahead (not heard much about it since last year) then all that will happen is 3 will get the option to install their kit at MBNL locations. Will make their build process a lot quicker, but don't instantly expect better coverage from this

lol, really hope you're just on a wind-up. Considering VF have pretty much the best coverage and mobile speed out there it really wouldn't speak much for the other operators! Plus the box is available for £20 every now and then. If three had a femtocell available I'd snap it up in a heartbeat!

Great deal though OP, shame it's not available properly at mythree yet! Voted hot!

that's why 3 has well deserved reputation for having the worst customer service.

give them a call again and quote the following. hope it will help
So, from 7th October, we’re giving everyone the chance to take advantage of all-you-can-eat data. Our existing customers will be able to add it to their Pay Monthly handset plan for just £3 a month.blog.three.co.uk/201…rs/

it was possible to tether on 300 min and 500 Mb plan (don't remember the name of this tarrif), but when my wife upgraded to all-you-can-eat-£3/m she lost this possibility. Actually, 3 warned that tehtering is not allowed on this £3/m data, but we haven't payed attention, hopping that they will not notice. Well, they have noticed and blocked tethering. Another, negatie side of £3/m data tarrif is that you can't cancell it until the end of the contract.

On the other hand she can watch tv and listen to the radio anywhere/anytime now for just £3/m:)
