as i can't get Cable around by me this seems to be the best deal.

Which plan did you get for unlimited BB?

I called up O2 last week and they give me 12 months The Works package for about 13POUNDS.

Isnt there a one off connection charge as well?, think last time I talked to o2 it was around £80

I though O2 had stopped 'unlimited' packages and were subject to fup and traffic shaping at peak times...?

I am still on their 'truly' unlimited up to 8mb package and pay £6.95 a month, been with them 2 years and very happy.I am on a long line so not O2's fault I can only get around 2.5mb.Excellent UK based support/c/s

Same here I'm still on the true unlimited 20mb per month for £18/month

It is a good price. They are trying to tempt the old customers off the old packages where it was truly unlimited. Last time I heard there was a 100Gb per month limit on these new packages. Most people wouldn't get anywhere near that until they started streaming iPlayer HD, LoveFilm etc. I've stayed on the old package for that very reason although it is getting harder to justify.

I thought the top package (The Works) has a FUP about 250GB if I am right.

Still on the old package and I aint budging! Even though I only get 5mbs as I am so far away from the exchange

FUP applicable to new / renewal o2 bb contracts post autumn 2010.
"...you can download as much as you like up to a fair usage limit of around 100GB for the All Rounder or around 250GB for The Works..."
Above quote lifted from o2 FUP para 4.4:

I received 9 months free on broadband when I upgraded mine. Truly unlimited download.

Interesting

Im on o2 broadband at the moment getting an average 17.9MB, have been for years along with my mobile but landline is with Bt which is out of contract, My o2 broadband contract has now expired and on rolling monthly paying 12.50 for the all rounder, I have been looking at renwewing into 12 month contracts on both and am struggling to decide who to go with as a package. Im looking at O2, Sky, Plusnet and Primus.

There are good and bad points to all, but O2 has the best customer service looking at reviews, Never had any problems that haven't been sorted out swiftly, We have Sky Tv so get the relevant discounts and 2 months free movies if we chosse them. There is cash back available for both but the end price difference is minimal. Im Leaning towards o2, But then plusnet and primus have good deals and can save a bit more money if i choose one of these but the reviews about customer service and foreign call center's put me off, I like to know if i have a problem 1 or 2 phone calls will sort it. The only downside of the o2 deal for me is im on PAYG with iphone on the £15 per month simplicity deal and can save £5pm if i move to giffgaff on my mobile. but then i lose the o2 broadband discount if i move to giffgaff, but then the no real customer service base and claims of limited 3g bandwidth on the network worry me a little as i use the net alot on my phone. Im on a money saving spree so looking to save as much as possible without compromising quality of service and customer service i will recieve. Im in such a muddle with it all and cant decide what to do....
