Great price and a free work out.

I have to go upstairs and hang out of the window to get a signal on EE.

So voted hot, but not for me.
I have 3 sims from plusnet, 2 on this deal.
I get a good signal and fast data even on old 3G for 2 of the phones.
Great speed on my old Lumia 640xl with 4G.
Been with them over a year on the sims and had no price increases yet.

The fibre is good also.
I renewed last month on the 36mb for £19.50 a month,by paying a years line rental upfront £197.88 and £3.01 a month for fibre.
I get 37.2 Mbps Downloads and 8.35Mbps upload.
Just cancelled with Virgin who said my loyalty plus discounts were removed as it's uneconomical for them and wouldn't reinstate or offer anything. Utter, utter barstewards. Tired of their ramps in price. I was on the £4 deal and now it's £6, so a whopping 50% increase. Yes, it's only £2 in real terms but that sort of hike is crazy.
Bye.Bye. VM. Hello Plusnet.
I'm repeating myself and maybe it'll annoy some folks but I don't want anyone to be misguided.

Plusnet don't explicitly say this but they don't have access to ALL of the EE network. Only BT do. Themselves and Virgin, Asda etc do NOT have access to the 800mhz, band 20 spectrum which will impact indoor coverage, speeds etc. So just be informed.

if she's got an android phone, she can set the data limiter option to make sure she never goes over
Plusnet will also send you text updates on your usage, when your bills due and when your new months allowence starts. I have found them very good since I joined 6 months ago.

Most android smartphones will have something like that in data usage section of settings - i have this deal and my phone warns me at 1.2GB (so I have just enough to squeak through with email, chat and train times etc for the rest of my billing period) and turns off mobile data at 1.5GB.

As another poster mentioned, Plusnet SMS warning at 1.2GB and limit reached messages.
Thus is veryyyyy good..shame I'm on virgin.. paying the same but limited minutes I'm sure
Seems to be for existing BB customers only. From the legal bit.
" £5 per month for unlimited minutes & unlimited texts for Plusnet Broadband customers taking Mates Rates. SIM only plan on a rolling monthly contract. Roam Like at Home enabled.Available to existing customers signing up at https://plus.net/mob…e18 "
EDIT - I've just switched to this deal. NO BB required. It's legit for all.

Cheers, shes just been handed down her grand-nieces iPhone and I'm not 100% convinced she'll read a text message. I'm on Giff-Gaff and although I rarely get close to the limit, I do like the GG App for keeping an eye on it.

This morning I've had to try (I know for a fact I didn't succeed) and explain what an App was....

Looks like the same deal I got last month.
Can't remember reading the T&C's at the time, but they were happy to switch me over to it and never mentioned it was a Mates Rates only deal (I'm not a Plusnet landline or broadband customer).
Fab. Thanks for this. Missed it last time. Hear added.

No app but you can check online and get daily text message of how much allowance you have left

you need to call Plusnet mobile to get it activated
Have two SIMs on this tariff, though one has been bumped up to 2.25GB after notifying them of a better offer a few months ago.

Only one word of warning; while Plusnet advertise that they allow tethering, their AP Gateway is not properly configured to notify mobile devices of this fact.

Consequently Android 5.0+ devices that have the tether_dun_required flag set will NOT tether on Plusnet.
Plusnet have been informed of this issue many times, but for whatever reason (Bureaucracy? Incompetence?) are unwilling to rectify it.

Both of my current Android devices suffered from this issue. There is a workaround, but it requires access to a PC and the Internet. (Something you're unlikely to have when you discover your tethering device isn't working....)
currenrlty on £5 for 1gb so i shall be messagig them today to upgrade me!

Thanks for this - I didn't know that Plusnet could provide this service.

It's a shame that they've been in operation for a couple of years now, and they still don't have an app or a very good dashboard to manage your usage, buy add ons, etc.
Sorry for this question, but: What’s a rolling contract?
Is it cancel anytime or skip a few months and come back?

Rolling as in, every 30 days it just renews to another 30 day contract.

Cancel anytime, only have to pay upto the next roll over date.

They are in direct competition with their parent company EE. PlusNet captures the cheaper end of the market, while EE does the other end, so their funds for developing these things are limited.
i can't see this on their website unless i go through the hukd link? is this offer on their own website please and do you have to be a broadband customer to get access to this offer?

i currently have a plusnet sim for £5 pm but it has 1500 minutes and 1.5GB and no plusnet braodband. Would I be able to upgrade to this plan and so pay the same monthly costs? I was hoping to see it on their website so I could point it to the customer service operator when I call them.
Looks like a great deal but has anyone got this without being a current PlusNet mobile or broadband customer? Voted hot by the way, we could do with sharing some heat today!

My elderly mother is on virgin mobile, she did have virgin TV, broadband, phone but I cancelled it as contract was up and they ramped up the prices. I called to cancel her virgin mobile contract too as that had also run out and price increased then they offered her 2500mins, unlimited texts and 5gb data for £5 per month, 30 day rolling contract. I'm so jealous

They just let me order one via the website link and I've never been a PlusNet mobile or broadband customer.
Looks like a good deal. What's their coverage like? I'm with Three, which are generally not great.

Seems to be a long running offer. I rang them up and asked why it wasn't on their website with other sim offers. They said it was for people who found it through their targeted ads.
If it helps, I rang plusnet yesterday and managed to get 5gb, unlimited texts and minutes for £9 a month, rolling contract, and with a £1 buffer. (They only do a minimum of £2 now but they left it the same as the old contract).

Spoke to someone in sales, then customer service , then sales again to get there and spent a total 40 mins on hold for the pleasure
Are you a Plusnet broadband customer? No,
Are you a Plusnet broadband customer? Yes. You get unlimited mins & texts + allocated data allowance.

Looks like member deals only for OP deal.

shwank where? i just ordered another sim for my mum and it went through, also my first sim is on its way first class post with confirmation email.

I believe they had this offer for broadband customers initially but they had data caped at £2, now this deal is global and data is capped at £10, so users be aware.

data capped means if for example you had data capped at £2, and you went over your allowed data bundle (1.5GB) then it charges you for the rest but it won't allow more data to be used over £2.

so obviously having a lower data cap is better but the deal is amazing if your good with managing your data or have low data usage per month, though 1.5GB is more than plenty for me since i have wifi at home and work
