I went with these for a month and cancelled, it was the worse speeds and service I've ever had.

I have just gone with these but contract not yet started, How do you cancel if you are in an 18 month contract as you are tied in?
What is it with companies and 18 month contracts?
I got this deal last year. Every time tested getting more than advertised. Currently 69mb tested just now. Never had any down time In the 9ish months I’ve been with them although I am using my BT smart hub still as the white router they gave us is hideous and doesn’t fit it with my decor. I haven’t a bad word to say as of yet. Went with Plusnet as It cut the price for me in half compared to when Was with BT once I included BT sports.
Not a fan of Plusnet. Had billing issues with them where they don't take money one month, double the next. Then the direct debit defaults to this double price, so you end up in credit and they still take money out even though the last bill was £0.
Was with them for years. Superb UK customer service and BT equipment. Only left as they sadly don't offer full fibre 300+ speeds so had to move to BT for the foreseeable.

Probably because with broadband, it is not just about the price. Customer service, technical support that actually know what they are doing, traffic management, router quality, quick resolutions etc are all important.

And general reviews and OFCOM statistics tend to have TalkTalk as the worst in most categories.
There’s also £85 TCB, or £70 Quidco which could be worth £100 with the “double the difference” guarantee for Premium members.
People slag bt but i pay 25 quid for 100mb get 100mb every day bar 2 days of the year which must be some maintenance days or something and never lose connection ever. Works on all vpns and bt give good upload speeds while virgin uploads speeds are terrible

My son is having problems with gaming on Virgin BB. His pro gamers friends are recommending BT or Talk Talk. People say Virgin is the best for gaming and of course Virgin do. Virgin are ringing up with offers. Just worried about moving and then do moaning about the BB
Been with Plusnet for over 3 years on their fibre and have consistently got speeds of more than 70Mbps. Had a billing issue with them one month and a short phone call with them sorted it out there and then. The customer service is pretty good and a million times better than I had with talk talk.

One point is that the Plusnet hub 1 router they give you is OK if you're wired (it's got 4 gigabit ports), but the wireless was very patchy and slow, even in a pretty new house. If you do take the plunge, get yourself on Ebay and get a BT Home Hub 6 for around £20. It's wifi is MUCH better in both speed and range, and there are instructions on home to get it to work if you look on Plusnet's own forums / google. Took me 5 mins and saved me the hassle of getting frustrated at the wifi giving me < 1mb connection intermittently. I can't recommend it enough
I had them before and never had any issues also on the up to 76Mb plan, the router was trash as expected. Also they offer static IP for like £5 one time which is cool if you need that without paying business rates.

I was about to put about £85 TCB, but also, Virgin and TalkTalk are cheaper after cashback, and Vodafone on a monthly basis but Vodafone is 24 month contract.

topcashback.co.uk/bro…are
Been with them three years. 80MB. Very little to complain about. Also using BT HH6 router.

My son plays fortnite none stop and never has issues over wifi and the hub is upstairs. If youre on wifi virgin hubs are terrible compared to bts so if you dont wanna switch bb supplied buy a 3rd party router or connect whatever hes using via cable

I’ve put a cable on but he’s still not happy
Same as others here. Have alternated between BT and Plusnet for years to receive new customer deals / cashback. Never any issues on 80/20 FTTC. Use the BT hub because wifi is superior (takes 5 mins to enter Plusnet details).
I moved from Sky to plusnet for my broadband to save a few quid. I wish I hadn't. Plusnet's signal strength is poor compared to Sky.
Unfortunately I paid for nearly all of my costs for the 18 month contract up front in order to save a few more quid, otherwise I would've stopped my payments, switched to another provider and taken the risk of them taking me to court for breaking the terms of the contract.
Avoid.

You have your standard rights to cancel. I complained within first two weeks and they said let it settle and they said if it doesn't improve then I could leave.
remember plusnet has £30 cease charge if you switch to anything else but BT
Biggest mistake I made was touching PN, joke of customer service told I’m the cause of constant drop outs/no service and a host other issues.

Just don’t do it scroll past and save the headache.

Signal strength as in WiFi? Change the router or add decent wireless access. I don't expect any provider to provide a decent router, always use my own.

Was very tempted by this but the 18 month contract is a huge pain if renting. Either you pay a fee cancelling after a year if you move or you need to pay the non reduced fee for 6 months afterwards making it again more expensive.

In the end I went for NowTV at 23.33p/m for the 12 month contract.

Thank you, I had the same problem with Post Office broadband, it also cuts out at least once a day, I rang them and they changed the channel but it didn't improve, so I ended up just putting up with it until the contract ended but if it happens again with Plusnet, which I hope it doesn't as I never had problems with Sky or Virgin Media, but at least I know what to do if it does.
Bad start with Plusnet already and I've not got live with them yet. I'm due to go live tomorrow but the router has not come yet. I looked at my account yesterday and it says that you will get your router in the few days before you go live and if it hasn't arrived on the day you go live to ring them (which is obviously too late). I rang them yesterday to be told that their lines were too busy and to ring back later. I have just rang them to be told that due to a glitch my router has not been dispatched yet! They are sending it 1st class today, I doubt it will arrive tomorrow but we will see.
I would say that I haven't dealt with Plusnet's customer service during the pandemic, but if my other experiences of customer service and call centers is anything to go by, everyone seems to be operating at reduced capacity with long waits.

I'm not sure - I'm a bit of an uneducated old fart when it comes to technology. They sent me a router, I set it up. As far as I'm concerned it should be fit for purpose. Apparently it's their best router, for what that's worth.

If I buy a different router is that likely to improve things? Could you recommend one?

Also, I don't know what "add decent wireless access" means (I refer you to the above old fart disclaimer). We've got a number of sky boxes, games consoles and mobile phones all connected wirelessly to the signal from the router (you find the signal, enter the password and off you go). Is there a different (i.e. better) way to do it?
Avoid Post Office at all costs. I can only imagine how bad TalkTalk are

Hey, look up ubiquiti uap-ac-lr In google. Can highly recommend. Mine is mounted in the loft of my house.
Switched from sky to Plusnet in May. Broadband speeds are great, but the router they provide is terrible. So connections to the slower 2.4ghz devices was terrible, wasnt even able to stream from my PS4 upstairs anymore. Bit the bullet and bought a third party router and now everything is ace and having no problems.
