Sounds like the have been watching Arthur starring Dudley Moore. The landlord in that had IOL (instant on lighting)

isnt this the normal price?

Good idea but poor in execution.
I have a GG sim and only use it for 2G voice in a dual sim phone.
The 3G and 4G coverage in a rural area is poor even 3 beat them for usuable internet.

On speedtest at home GG give me 4G speeds of 13meg down and 4.5up.
On 3G it's 4.2down and 0.5up.

At those speeds with their coverage courtesy of o2 don't expect to use much data!

I'm a GG fan but their data is woeful, roll on the o2/3 takeover for a better network.

Don't waste your time with this, very poor data speed hence the unlimited data is not useful at all.

Completely in agreement with you. I can't even use 500mb in a month. I have no problems with voice calls though. Data speed has to be the worst ever

It's not as good as it sounds. After using a little 4g data O2 throttle the speed right down. I was using this to stream music to my car but had tidbit have it for a EE data SIM as the music stream started to cut out.

Agreed - I tried GiffGaff for 1 month, only got 10% of the speed a colleague on an identical phone, sat next to me, got on O2. I asked them if they capped the speeds. They told me it was because I was indoors... Moved v quickly.

Have to agree with others. A GG fan but data connection is a bit if a joke. Very good for txt and phone though.

It's like owning a Ferrari and only being able to use it for an hour a day.Terrible deal.

Moved from Giff Gaff to BT Mobile, chalk and cheese with 4g speed and only £8 per month for 2g data, I will never go back to Giff Gaff.

Looks good but only in good areas .

3three ee ans Vodafone rule the market place and there is no competition . price fixing to maximise profits .

Plenty of mvno's with very competitive prices.

I am leaving g 3three but average around 16g a month . Spotify, streaming services always on the go were theirs no wifi.

I suppose it's a good deal if it suits ur needs but unlimited data is false and slow

No they are all more or less the same price . try a comparison website . The only difference is the speed of data

Last I checked these Your text here were much cheaper than the big 3, plus generous cash back too.

"Your text here" aka talk mobile, use Vodafone but are not 4g

And?

shockingly bad network. Calls drop, texts don't send and the data doesn't work - and it's not unlimited, it's 6GB, then throttled beyond useable.

Nope. Just generally bad.

I was on Tesco for years and o2 years before that. I'm in the middle of Liverpool city centre. 3G speed is usually less than 2mb.

And Giffgaff get lower priority.

What do you mean and?

I was replying to the post above mine. Besides giffgaffs data speeds don't come close to saturating 3g (never mind 4g) and I'd bet talkmobile 3g is faster than the aforementioned 4g.

I'm not a hater, giffgaffs lower offerings are very good value for payg, and when I was with them I left on a profit (payback) those were the early days.

so am right

Like your first comment with the "your text here" link, which Qrunch clarified for us "And?" is equally ambiguous. If you want to contribute towards a thread try making your comments understandable.

See two post above yours.

If anyone wants to have a reliable and usable data connection, dont use one of these MVNO's.

Giffgaff's data is slow and throttled in comparison to o2.

talkmobiles 3g data is a joke, 75% of the time its only a 2g/EDGE connection and the 3g is slow too.

If you need decent internet on your phone, choose EE, O2 or 3.
