Pretty good deal I think for the unlimited mins and text and 6gb is plenty for the casual user.

Plus £10 quidco and 10% goes to a charity of your choice each month.

They use the EE network so very good coverage.

"Really cheap mobile phone deal... The People’s Operator which uses the EE network - unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, 6GB of 3G data currently £12.95 and is on a rolling contract..."

is tethering allowed in that 6 GB?
Why do these MVNO's restrict to 3G when they use networks that have 4G? I'm paying EE £15 for 4Gb data and 500mins/Unlimited texts so this is clearly a better deal in terms of allowances.
I needed a new phone for work and I'm going to use this in a cheap phone and in the car so it's perfect for me, I won't need 4g to use Google maps.
Can the cold voters please comment why they feel this is a bad deal, I guess unlimited calls and texts and a monthly donation to a charity is such a bad idea??
I personally wouldn't touch coz I hate EE.
but I would buy this deal from another network. haven't voted
Terrible customer service and lots of service outages/issues in my experience. Lasted a month with them.
Service is average, but they do keep their bundle costs low, hence I have been with them for about two years now. I went for this one when I saw it. Op, you need to grow a thicker skin I'm afraid. Cold voters will not always tell you, just get used to it.
Enjoyed their service and very good deals for over a year. Highly recommended and feel good factor about donating to charity without donating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND... Have some heat.

I have not voted, but I would never touch a deal which TELLS me I am giving money to charity - it should be my choice whether or not I give, just like ebay has an option to tick a box if you want to donate or not.
We are not living in a dictatorship (some people would argue that one with good reason perhaps), so I cannot stand being told that I am doing something when I was not asked in the first place.

if you read properly it says they pledge to give 10% of "their income" from you to a charity ...... it then gives you the option to choose one you like or support, which is imo fair enough as I prefer certain ones, just like most people. if you don't have opinion of where "their money/donation" should go, they donate it too their chosen ones. Hardly a dictatorship when you are being given an opportunity to have input and control over their donation , infact it's the very opposite of the definition of one! .......

I used to be with them but left because I wanted 4g. As I understand they are shifting to the 3 network this year to enable them to provide a 4g service. Customer service was always very good to me. Lots of giveaways and random vouchers sent through the post! It's 10% of your net bill not gross which makes a slight difference. Also (I think it's still the case) your nominated charity won't get anything until £50 has been collected, OK if you support a large or popular charity, not quite so good if it's the opposite.
I recently moved away from TPO.
Lack of 3G and 30min hold times (consistently) did it for me.

Also, they will not go through ANY security when you call them up. I requested a PAC code from them for my mother-in-law, I called them from a different phone and they didn't even ask for my name (or hers).

Just openly gave a "stranger" access to her personal details and PAC code.

Be careful.

Because the customer service and wait times are awful and they don't verify who you are when you call up to discuss an account.

And no 3G
What customer service?

Customer service is woeful, if you envisage transferring your number to TPO then be prepared for issues, you will be in a big queue waiting for them to answer.
Ive just transferred to life from top, would not touch them with a barge pole.
this is 3G so cold for me

6gb on 3g...genuinely is there any point? 2gb is plenty for browsing the internet. With 6gb I'd want to stream the odd song / youtube video. Doing that on 3g is a ball ache.

Personally this is only a good deal if it switches to 4g eventually.
Avoid, Bad customer service
I have never had 4g personally. I have an unlimited 3g service with virgin mobile. I don't understand why 4g is even necessary with these stupid low data caps providers dish out these days. You could literally max it out in 15 minutes with one movie if you wanted to.
Don't go for it. If you need roaming they will ask for £100 deposit.
Stay away from TPO-there is a reason why everyone hates them if you read any reviews. Customer service is ridiculous, network doesn't work... I asked them to keep my old number and they were unable to do it. They suggested me to go to a third provider and then go to them because that way they would be able to do it... It's not a company it's a joke.

I was very tempted by this but apparently they announced that they are switching from EE to Three later in the year to get 4g speeds. Good news if you want 4g, bad news if there is no Three reception where you work (me).

Worst customer service I've ever encountered, and I didn't think it was possible to top the experience I'd had with Tesco mobile! Took 3 weeks to port a number over and that was just one of their screw ups...inept is putting it mildly!
in the real world, for a 16yo, how far will 6GB go?

yes because we never watched a video on 3g internet it only came along on 4g. I've never had an issue streaming a video on 3g unless I'm in an area where 3g won't work. anyone remember streaming music on dial up? now THAT was a challenge
My phone is locked to ee will this sim work
BungalowBill

Oh, well that clears that right up.

Because the host network (in this case EE) would charge the MNVO (in this case The Peoples Operator) more for access to 4G. This would result in higher charges for you the customer.
Should probably include the words "Sim only" or "Monthly sim" in the title to help anyone using the search function.

What? In what possible way is that like a dictatorship? You can choose to buy a product and a proportion of that company's profits are given to a charity. You even get a choice about which charities benefit.

Do you stand at the tills in supermarkets demanding to know how the cashier plans to spend her wages before handing over your card? (Spoiler: The answer should be "No")
ordered the for the other half, who is not bothered about 4g, but ability to use the voice portion is very importent, regretting it now after reading all the bad coments
I'd strongly encourage people not to deal with this company.

I have experienced some terrible customer service over the years, but these guys are a bit dodgy.

They botched the closing of my account, then starting randomly sending me bills over 1 year later pursuing me or a nominal debt that I don't owe to them. These things cause stress and can taint your credit history. I called them and they play on one's jaded memory to make life difficult for you.

Go with a different company.
good bundle at the price
just signed up for this had no problem porting my number had some issues with APN settings but customers services were helpful
THERES A REASON WHY EVERYBODY SAYS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID THIS COMPANY! Proper dodggy!! Used up all my TPO minutes and remaining balance plus minutes and balance from another sim card just to transfer my number, waiting time was a joke! I lireteraly spent hours and days in waiting queue on phone just to get my pac code. The customer service is a disgrace! Avoid!!!!!!!Would never deal with them in a million yrs! AVOID!
