Are you sure about that? I've already looked at ]Astraweb and as far as I can see their equivalent deal on a fully unlimited package is $15, which works out at £10.48. Unless there's a voucher it's more expensive.

On the main page it doesn't say per month.
I take it this is an error and it's not continuously unlimited, if so this is smoking hot.

I pay astraweb 3 monthly and its £23 (depending on exhange rate at the time, but the most i've paid is £24). So that works out at about £7.66.
Great service, retention and reliability too.

Appologies, i just checked my statements and have actually paid upto £26.77 in the past.

I suppose anyone happy with 3 monthly can save themselves 74p a month on Astra then.

Cheers for the deal, currently with newsdemon paying about £12/month for the same deal. Have asked them for a trial account first though to test speed, retention and completion first though.

With NewsDemon you can use a 25% off code newsdemon25off which makes it work out at about £9.12 a month, but you'd have to cancel and rejoin in your case.

Marginally cheaper and marginally less retention.

It's being upgraded to 270 days. Astraweb deal is better IMO

So what's so great about your 'deal'?

AstraWeb are 10% cheaper and (as pointed out by Femstar), Astraweb retention is being upgraded to 270 days - that's 35% (70 days) more than NewsgroupDirect.

You just can't bring yourself to admit that you haven't posted a great deal, can you?

It's being upgraded to 270 days but it hasn't been yet. My car's being upgraded to an Aston Martin...one day.

Anyway, you haven't mentioned the best thing how about the Astraweb deal...which is that the price will never go up! Lol.

Are you sure it hasnt already been upgraded ?
Im sure thats what they told me a couple of weeks back in a flyer.

Of course it will take the extra time to actualy get that retention, they cant just magicaly produce all the historic data.

Im not sure what this deal is? what benefit is it paying for this service. what do you get for your money? sorry for being ignorant

Right now Astraweb's coming up at £8.06 and with no free News Rover download and less retention until they've upgraded.

Original Poster

This works out at 28 pence more then the Astraweb deal but comes with a free download of the lastest News Rover software worth £22. I still think it's a better deal.

Oh well.
