Easy to use, this white cap Unwins Mushroom Growing Kit contains everything needed to grow your own crop of mushrooms. This growing kit is a great way to start growing your own mushrooms, which is not only easy, but rewarding too.

Containing spawned mushroom compost, casing peat and a growing tray, several flushes of mushrooms can be achieved from this one kit.

# How To Use: Simply pour the mushroom compost into the growing tray and spread out evenly.

# Place the box lid over the top to create an air gap and a dark environment.

# Place in a warm place and keep moist.

# After 9-10 days add 0.5 litres of water to the white bag of casing peat and mix well.

# Pour this over the mushroom compost.

# Replace lid and move the box to a cooler place for mushrooms to develop.

# Check every 2 days and keep moist.

# After a week tiny white mushrooms will start forming.

# Water carefully and keep moist at all times, taking care not to get water on the pinhead mushrooms until they are about the size of a pea.

# Pick the mushrooms as they appear.

# When the first flush of mushrooms has finished, place the tray back in a warmer environment for 9-10 days before moving to a cooler place for the next flush to form.

Magic deal

I've had two of these, and after following the instructions *to the letter* didn't get one bloody mushroom.

Looks like im making a trip to asda.

is it possable to get more then 2 lots out of these??
can you get away and spend th £25 in store to get this at this cost??

Wilkinson have a similar product, Lowestoft store have these for 10p

It is possible to get 2 or even 3 lots of mushrooms from one pack, but each consecutive harvest gets smaller and smaller. Not done one in a year or so but I think you are supposed to gently shake the mushrooms before harvesting to help them release their spores into the substrate, as well as keeping it damp. Well worth the price as they can get pretty big if you leave them a day or so extra, once they start come up they grow very fast.

Must be an error on their site re delivery charges as the store pick up is the same as home delivery...Or they are taking a chance people will not notice... or care
I have been thinking of getting a kit over the last few months and will post on here if i find anything worthwhile.

I have some mushrooms growing around the base of my toilet off some damp chipboard, they are white - do you think they would be ok to eat?

No sh*t

what would happen if you left one to die would it let its spores go back in the tub??

The general rule is, if you don't know what it is 100%, don't eat it. Lots of mushrooms are poisonous and many can kill.
