The email i received said nothing about bonus points, neither does the app

May be account specific ?

My email said I could try them for free but it wasn't clear if it's using points already accrued on my Subcard or if they're giving me points to cover it.

Yeah mine said try it for free, if I used 500 of my points.

That email is quite sneaky, because it implies that you are getting another Sub for FREE (as per last weeks promotion), and then a few lines down goes onto say these points will be taken from your account. Nothing about getting a FREE Sub or points added to your account as per the start of this email...

I still have a few buy one get one free vouchers left from world sandwich day so I’ll definitely try these tomorrow. Any idea what the price will be in Manchester?

i only have 359 points yet on the app it says i have enough points to get my next sub free...!?! they're 500 points at the least.
Lately I've been hating Subway, they take unused points off your account if you don't use them. Nothing says 'thank you loyal customers' by taking the customers' loyalty points off them. I contacted them too about this and they basically took ages to reply and gave me some shoddy answer. I don't trust their deals whatsoever, they've definitely gone downhill over the last couple years.

What they sent me was “unwrap a free festive sub”, but how they said is was at first glance probably thinking free sandwich, but if you read it tells you “You’ve got enough points to try our festive sub for free”.

The cheek to use my earned points on a new sub.

To be fair, this is in their Subcard FAQ under "Does my SUBCARD expire?":

You must use your SUBCARD® once per year, otherwise your loyalty points will be cancelled.

So I'm guessing you hadn't used your Subcard for over a year then, which is a pretty long time not to go in for a sandwich.

What annoys me more is that you can't transfer points between Subcards, even if you're using the app - there's no technical reason they couldn't implement this in the app, IMHO (the "for security reasons" excuse in the FAQ is utter BS).

Nope, I had definitely been in the past year! I normally go about once a month, sometimes more and sometimes less. I got an email from Subway weeks after i first emailed them and basically said some points are given with promotions on certain days but expire after these days. bit stupid.
