I'm guessing this is basically fuel only credit card? Which gives the discounted rate when you pay.
It’s asking for payment numbers in the application so I’m guessing it’s like a credit card for fuel

I believe automatic payment is taken once transaction is completed with the fuel card. FAQ section on the website explains this better than i could.
So how much discount do you get doesn’t state it just says up to 10p
There's two different rates, one for regular filling stations and one for motorway services. 10p is for premium fuel at services. It's still 4/5p off forecourt price for regular filling stations on diesel, and 3/4p off unleaded depending on when you signed up
It didn’t accept my American Express as payment method

When I looked at it a while back, I'm sure you need to link a debit card (so no Visa/Mastercard either)
My local Esso was still more expensive then cheapest Asda fuel, even with this extra few p off
I signed up to a similar one a year or so ago and it ended up a few p cheaper than the forecourt but the card ended up getting rejected and then the pin number didn't work despite getting reissued. So I binned it off as too much hassle! Now I've just seen the picture it seems the save scheme!! Just don't look at any review sites if you want to go ahead lol. One day the company sent out over a hundreds texts and you couldn't stop it!

This card is run by Horizon Fuel.

When it works well, its great. But if you have a problem it can be really difficult to contact them and get it fixed. I recommend also reading carefully what you're responsible for if the card is lost/stolen and used by someone else. As long as you go into it with your eyes open, there are savings - especially if you prefer to run premium petrol/diesel.
Good first post. Keep them coming. However I personally hate these deals for all NHS workers to get a discount. My sister in law and her husband both work for the NHS but jointly earn in excess of £200,000 per year. I on the other hand do not work for the NHS and have an annual income of less than £10,000 per year yet I’m having to pay more for goods and services so that they can pay less. Utter nonsense. By all means help out those on the lower incomes like newly qualified nurses who are run ragged for next to no thanks but don’t have these things across the board. It just spoils the whole thing
Cool

It's a publicity thing from these companies.
You're right though, the NHS is one of the best paying industries in the UK.
Just boycott the companies offering discounts to the wealthy.
