I usually take the HDD out first and then smash the scheiße out of it.

Bit choosy on what they will accept. However I can return them free of charge for them to dispose of (recycle for their gain!). You get nothing for free from Sky. Another money making scam. Glad I dumped them.

Blimey, they only want the good stuff back. Up to £20 for a Sky+HD 2TB Set Top Box is a bit miserly when they easily sell for 80 - 120 quid on ebay.

Do these boxes have a resale value? What are the used for 2nd hand

I like Sky version of give us your equipment, not pay you and we will use it to your advantage and put your subscription up....

Winner all the way..

yes I agree sell it on eBay and even if you only get £20 you get feedback too.

surely the hdd is worth more than 20 quid on its own..

typical sky, frigg the customer btoh times, subs and selling, lol

If this included all the old white Sky or Sky+ boxes then it would be decent but asking for fairly new boxes it looks like a con. How many people are going to have a "spare" SkyHD box? Most people would only get a new box if their's broke or they wanted a bigger HD, etc. £20 is rubbish value for a box still in working condition, might as well keep it as a 'spare' in that case!

I sold my old sky boxes to the local cash converter or generator whichever it was
