Title says it all.

Although still not a fair price in my opinion, this is a must for someone like me who spends a lot of their time on the road.

I have a Tom Tom classic and it came with a map on the system ... why would I need to buy another map for the region? Am I missing something?

New roads are getting built constantly, new maps will include new roads. Or if you are planning a road trip to France and want the maps for there, then you can buy them as an extra.

Still £29.95 for UK & Ireland map

£5-£10 would be a fairer price to upgrade

Agreed. But I doubt it'll ever get any cheaper than this.

Little point in updating TomTom. Road changes happen 10 years ago in my area and they are still not on the latest TomTom maps. Better stick with what you have or use money towards a Garmin.

Agreed the price is unfair, but if anyone thinks of trying to copy maps off someone else's tomtom onto their own to get newer ones - be careful, because I did that on mine and it took me about 2 days to fix it :whistling:

and I thought no one buys the maps...

You can also upgrade to a wider area map.

For example if your TomTom is UK only, you could chane to Europe & Africa etc. Handy if taking it abroad.

central and western europe £54.95

Just got an e-mail from Tom Tom saying discount is up to 40% on downloadable maps during January.
