This is good deal if you are looking to trade-in your old device.

The list of device is huge.

I have a S7, which gets you £250 off the new S9 bringing it down to £489.

The full list of other devices can be found following the link.
samsung.com/uk/…v=2

Surprisingly iPhone 5 16GB/32GB gets you £300 off.

Only giving £150 off for iPhone 5
It's showing £150 off with an iPhone 5, where did the op get £300 from?
Looks like a typo, wonder if they'll honour it

It also says £300 for non-working iPhone 5's LOL .
Has to be a typo

its a typo, at check out its only deducting £150
Be very cautious if you are attempting this on the typo.

When I looked into the terms and conditions of trade in when getting my s9 in march, it specifically stated that if you send in something that doesn't meet their requirements they will only give you £25 credit and you will not be able to get your device back.

There was a list of conditions the phone had to meet on the website (e.g hold a charge/be factory reset/not be physically damaged).

I would say go into this deal with the mindset that once you send off your iPhone 5, not matter what you get between £25-300, you aren't getting your phone back if you are unhappy.
Already done this
Got £200 off for iphone 6 16gb with wear and tear that I bought for £80 on eBay
So for an iphone 5 it is confirmed £150
Note that on the recent CarPhone Warehouse S9 trade in deal - you get an extra £50 compared to their standard amount...

So much better off with CPW on an iPhone 7 32GB than this deal..... sorry

They do but you don't get much off ... See the list..
The £300 is for a Samsung S8 (for example). Just click on the link and the 'Trade in' option to see the prices
Only £150.00 if they were giving £300 definitely will buy 28)
Anyone trading in an s8 for this is pretty crazy in my eyes, not much difference between the two.
could be worthwhile selling your old phones (S7 etc) elsewhere (ebay etc) and then fund your new purchase that way... 200 for a good S7 is not enough...
can you trade in more than one device?
Samsung galaxy did not improve much from S7 edge . Camera of s7/s7 edge is as excellent as S9 . S7 edge has more battery capacity than s8 and s9 plus though new snapdrago/Exynos is more power effcient than previous models. Previous models still offer water proofing, same design, battery capacity software, etc S7 and s8 are also getting Oreo so i dont see any reason for someone to upgrade unless they have plenty of money to waste and badly need stereo speaker of S( which are again nothing spectacular. Processor and RAM come to a stage where upgrade in it is just more numbers where you dont feel any differnce in real life betwene 3/4gb and 6GB RAM and between 820 and 845 Snapdragon

If someoen is fond of Samsung then S7 edge is better value phone right now to buy

problem is how much longer will the s7e be supported, and thoes of us that have the s7e for a few years now the battery is starting to wear and its expensive to replace and no guarantees your s7e will be water tight again when they put it back together.

I was talking about buying new (or close to new) s7 edge/s8 vs new s9 ..they boht be running with oreo at the moment and as far future then i dont see many people who keep phone for 3/4 years and even if you are running previous android version then it dont mean that you will be missing much and infact i have seen people on Xda who downgraded to nougat from oreo because they were getting more battery life

lm running an my s7e on Oreo at the moment and its great, but there no way l would downgrade my phone it just too much of a security risk, esp when l use the phone for banking and as alternative to a laptop when on holidays. I've even still still got my s4 running on stock but just use that as an mp3 player, but everytime the apps get an update it starts to eat into the storage and even it with a memory card installed it such a pain to have move them back each time it updates as they always unmount them selves from the men card. So what lm trying to say is in my opinion the s9 would be prudent choice for piece of mind as you will at least be protected with the latest major updates for the next 2 years, and all that on-board storage (128gb fast access)without having to buy a mem card, where the s7e l think Oreo is going to be it's last major update and security update.
I have an iPhone 5 in pretty good condition for its age. Just wondering if people have been getting the full trade in amount or are Samsung paying much less than the offer states?
