They had a deal like this last year but be warned it is a 2nd hand company employed on behalf of PC World that delivers this. I bought 3 Tab 2's this time last year and it took me over 6 months to recoup the cash back of £25 and 8 GB Micro SD Card per tablet. Thats £75 and 3x8GB SDHC cards. You must make sure your tablet and any other promotional items offered are all on one receipt. I was fortunate as I was persistent and was not letting this go purely on principle. Also be careful what packages they sell you with the tablet. If it is a Galaxy Tab 3 you automatically get 50GB Dropbox Storage when setting up your tablet. Anti Virus is free off Google Play for Android Devices. Just choose which one you want and Samsung provide a free Remote Service / Locate Your Device if your Tab 3 is stolen. Read the small print very carefully.Good Luck with your purchase choice.

Tesco is better, don't need the claim.

Like their cash for goals scam

Curry's can DO ONE

This looks like a great deal for the 32GB Nexus 7 I'm looking for but these comments are putting me off. Is the experience really that bad? It looks pretty simple from the website.

How is the Tesco deal better, they only offer £30 off?

I just upgraded to a iPhone 5c in Curry's Phones4U Warrington. Got £100 cash back and bought a nexus Instead of the cheap HP Tab.
Made up and they paid off some my old contract.

Have purchased an ipad air 64gb using this deal and cna confirm that you can also use the ITAB5 offer to get 5% off...cracking offer therefore...provided the cashback arrives!

Like their cash for goals scam Curry's can DO ONE

What scam? I got my cash for goals cheque without any hassle.

I got an iPad from them last week with the 5% off and I'm waiting for them to email me a £50 voucher, so I may well change my tune if that doesn't turn up :-)

Brilliant, ordered the iPad Air with 5% discount and £50 potential cashback. Sweet!

Currys/PC World are clever. They will simply use the discount given directly by apple on the sale after 21 days and give this discount to customers. So no one is saving anything really if you could wait a few weeks. You won't be getting the cashback right away so there is no difference in getting the cachback from Currys/PC world or directly from Apple.

The fact that they ask you to wait 21 days before you can claim the cashback just shows that they are waiting for Apple to reduce their prices by that time and just pass on the discount from Apple to you.

Apple have one sale a year - Black Friday - where you would normally get £20/30 off an iPad, even the new ones.

Der...the 21 days is when their no quibble refund runs out so they don't get any hassle with people claiming cashback and then immediately returning it. This isn't just Apple products if you hadn't noticed.

Careful with using the 5% code too as the Terms say no other offers but it carries on from a sentence talking about staff purchases, very ambiguous but you know which way they'll play it.

Yes but u just know that they won't have stock of the new ipad mini when it's released then stock will magically appear after the discount code expires on the 4th dec, just watch

How about Quidco?...

Is it a real 50GB dropbox space or just the typical 2GB for free and you get some extra for every friend you spam... ekhm... recommend? Because that's what I got with my Galaxy S3, big fat lie with 50GB storage.

Is there an expiry date on the offer?

Well I just CHECKED on their Customer Services number and it was confirmed that they could be combined - the CS person checked with her manager (and I have her name!)(_;)

But the iPad Mini was not in Apple's sale day last year and, almost certainly won't be this year either as the new model will just have come out

Got £27 off a 64gb Ipad air and £50 voucher in currys. Awesome deal very happy.

probably better off looking at Amazon etc....usually cheaper
curry's/PC world seem pricey nowadays and the service in store I've found to be poor
always trying to sell you something extra

I posted this deal earlier today, flagged as spam and removed. Now at 262 degrees. Ho-Hum

Not sure what to do, as people say the T&C's state you can't use another code. Tesco don't have any stock plus its only £30 off the air model

Didn't anyone else watch "Watchdog" a few weeks ago. Soooo many people had problems trying to get cashback from PCWorld, you can pretty much forget about ever getting it back.

Example of the type of thing :- bbc.co.uk/pro…ity
This is another example:- bbc.co.uk/pro…ack

Agree with comment 1 - I did 2 Tab 2's last Christmas and took an age to receive the cashback - had to call and complain a number of times

They do one day sale in the whole of the year on certain products. iPad was one of them last year (excluding the new mini.)

I have 3 products. Which makes you look silly that you don't know about the offers.

But neither will these high street shops like currys/pc world do a sale on the new iPad Mini With Retina when it comes out because Apple will not be putting a sale on them either. Which confirms my prediction that they (currys/pc world) will just be getting the discount direct from Apple and passing it on to you the customer when the time comes, which is why you can't get cashback right away but have to apply for it after 21 days.

Not one bit of sense does that make.

Yes you start with 2/3 GB but it is easy to get the 50 GB. I currently have 101 GB for free and if you look at the T&Cs they charge £9.99 a month for this. It's easy enough to get. Run it on your PC, Phone and Tablet and just make up a few more email addresses under your name to do the recommendation. Very straight forward.

If you want it cheap wait and see this years Black Friday Sales.

There's a difference between "doesn't make sense" and "refusing to make sense". Broaden your horizon mate. Don't close the doors to logic and common sense.

Actually, the terms do not say that. The terms say:

"This offer is open to employees of DSG Retail and may be used in conjunction with Colleague discount but not with any other offer."

So it is referring to DSG Retail employees and not general public.

Also, what you do on currys/PC world isn't related to the promoter's deal which is managed by a different company (DSG Retail Limited). So you can use any code you want on Currys website, and as long as you spend over the minimum amount, you are entitled for cashback. I have confirmed this by ringing multiple places and speaking to manager at my local store and also at KNOWHOW.

As previously mentioned the reason you have to wait 21 days is to stop people buying then returning whilst still claiming the cash back.
Nothing to do with Apple passing on discounts. Very competitive prices for the high street.

Yes that is a valid reason too. But it is convenient that they coincided with Apple sale date which will happen around then.

Also, a point to note is that currys/pc world are giving until 14th Jan 2014 to return unopened products. By then, surely everyone would have claimed their cashback by then. However, their terms say that if you do this, they will deduct the value of the cashback from the refund.

So 21 days isn't just to limit people returning, when they have 68 days to return.

Even that doesn't make sense! Its not about broadening horizons, its just about how it is. Your reasoning doesn't make sense. Apple will charge Currys the same price per unit now as they will in 3 months time. Currys aren't passing on any discount from Apple.

Apple make it a contract with reseller's that they can't sell the iPad at discounted rates, otherwise they stop supplying to them if they break this binding agreement. It's one of the reasons why Apple keep their prices premium through the year, every year. The only time other resellers can put a sale on is when Apple lets them.

So I wouldn't be surprised if there is something fishy going on with currys or other resellers giving discounts. They might be using a loophole. And the only one I can see is that somehow they claim the 50 quid discount from Apple during the sale day from Apple, and then pass this onto the customers who buy from currys at reduced price early instead of Apple later. I'm just guessing.

Got this email:

Dear

Thank you for your email.

The cashback offered cannot be claimed in conjunction with any other offer.

If you use the 5% discount you will not be entitled to claim the cashback offered as part of the Xmas Cashback promotion.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Currys Pc World Promotional Support Team Manager

The cashback process in Currys appears to be automated through online portal, but in reality it is horrendous. They would do every bit to reject claims by asking for documents which at first place they never provided. For example I purchased a laptop valued over £499 online in their last promotional offer of £100 cash back, while I was filling the form I realised that they haven't send me the cashback code for completing the online claim form. I mailed them asking to provide the cash back code and they replied that they need copy of the Receipt AND Invoice to generate a code. After numerous mail exchanges clarifying that I never received any receipt or Invoice, they finally agreed to send the code. I completed/submitted the online form providing all the required information and got a claim reference number.
To my shock and surprise they again refused to validate the completed claim asking for same set of documents which they asked earlier and which they never provided at first place. I was again shocked to learn that the teams dealing with customer queries about cash back codes and the teams dealing with validation of cash back are different and can't share the information with each other. I was finally able to get the claim validated but not before I have spent almost 3-4 hours mailing them and few bucks talking to 0845 number.

THEY ARE PATHETIC AND MOST CUSTOMER UNFRIENDLY COMPANY.

oO No way!!!

Can anyone else confirm this? I have recorded conversation from local Curry's store manager and also an advisor from KNOWHOW who said that it was OK to use both the 5% discount and get a £50 cashback too.
