You can buy many blurays on offer on Music magpie for about 2 quid. This doesn't seem such a good deal when i can own a bluray with a higher bit rate for less.
Does prime stream Atmos

I never bother with dvds or cds these days. I don't like clutter. and stream everything off amazon prime. If the movie I'm looking for isn't their, then I have other resources.

You can, and I often do. Unfortunately the good quality films are rarely £2! e.g. The Godfather £4.80, Gladiator £5.50. Doesn't compare well with £2.49 and £1.99.
Is there an app that keeps you informed as to what digital films you have bought on different platforms like Prime, Google Play and Rakuten

Just pick a film, then click on More Purchase Options, click Redeem a Gift Card or Promotional Code and then it should show you how much credit you have.

//would be nice if they started doing 4k upgrades too. Despite owning all DVD's / bluerays, far to much clutter and can never be a****d to go through them all. I know the quality isn't there, but they look fine. Plus nearly every new smart tv has the amazon app. Apple therefore too restricive.

Hah hah! The answer seems to be a definite NO so far! Amazon has a pretty poor selection of 4K/HDR content AND has not given up on the idea that people should be paying more for it!

You do have the one-off cost of an Apple TV 4K box but Apple seem the only streaming provider NOT to charge extra for 4K content - and they have much more of it than anyone else!

Unless and until others do the same the Apple TV 4K box seems pretty good value!

Apple are good in the 4K department but their movie prices are designed to mug your wallet. Even non sale prices, Amazon is on average £2 cheaper than iTunes.

New releases are directly comparable, except that Apple will give you 4K content for £13.99, and Amazon cannot Be bothered. For a quick example since Life (which came out on disc etc 31st July 2017)), they’ve added a massive four movies in 4K... four..

Also ITunes actually give a monkeys about providing a proper experience for Extras, Amazon are haphazard at best. That’s being polite. Then there’s the fact that iTunes and Google both bother providing a lot of content in bundled box sets, which work out a lot cheaper than Amazons approach of giving you individual releases only for almost all titles. They both also have HD content for a lot of catalogue titles that Amazon can’t be bothered to even stock, or are only available in SD.

Also, if you do a little leg work both ITunes and Google Play work out far cheaper than Amazon ever have. Both allow you to actually combine your collections with other members, so when one person buys a movie or tv show, the other members get to play it too without fee. When you can have up to 6 individual accounts under one umbrella collection. I personally have some 260 movies on my account, in my group.. some 1,300. If each member adds in one new release a month then we’ve got pretty much full coverage of new releases in 4K, for a relative paltry sum of £13.99. Do anything even remotely like this, even with just one other person, and all of a sudden Amazon becomes by far the most expensive out there.

That's true but what about the movies on iTunes that don't have 4K or don't have special features, a large majority fit that example and Amazon is still £2 cheaper in those instances. Most people use a single account whether for themselves or their families so they ability to share the movies is not something that everyone needs or wants, although I do admit it is a cool perk. I bought The Help back in February on iTunes for £4.99 as part of their Oscars sale and last week they had it reduced to £3.99, Amazon in this sale has it down to £2.99 with subtitles, the iTunes copy doesn't have subs (plus no 4K or special features benefits either). Amazon also prices matches every iTunes price drop, iTunes never does the same for Amazon.

EDIT: Just remembered I bought the first two Pokemon movies on Amazon for 99p each in HD last month and iTunes had them for £8.99 each! Not the only example. Amazon have had Berlin Syndrome and other indie titles for as cheap as £1.99 whereas they're still £9.99 on iTunes, no 4K no special features just £8 more expensive for the sake of it, even though Google Play made an effort to price match.

EDIT 2: I know Amazon have a lot of catalogue titles in SD and some they don't have at all but it goes both ways, iTunes only has the cut version of Striptease in SD whereas Amazon has the uncut in the HD. Plus Amazon has Rambo First Blood Part II in HD, iTunes has it in SD only and iTunes doesn't even have a recent movie like You're Next which Amazon does have.
