[UPDATE: Proof Added] [Retention Deal] Virgin Mobile - £5/Month: 5000 minutes, Ultd texts, 20Gb 4G data with rollover £60

So I posted this deal around 3 weeks ago here and it was voted cold because I didn't have any proof at the time. My billing cycle has since refreshed (earlier than I said it would because I got the date wrong) with the new tariff and so I now have a screenshot of proof with my monthly bill. I've attached the screenshot but covered any identifying information with boxes for obvious reasons.

Here's what I wrote on the last deal:

So I'm not expecting this to get much heat as it deserves none; I hate retention deals as much as the next guy but maybe just maybe this will help one of you guys out.

So for context I've had two numbers with Virgin for at least 6/7 years now. I called up 789 from my phone and chose the "change package" option (selection 1 then 3 I think). I was then notified by an automated voice that I was eligible for an upgrade.

When I got through to someone after about 5 minutes, I asked for the £12/month 6Gb package on their website before asking about the upgrade notification. The guy instead offered me the title package for £10/ month. I was happy with that but I asked for a lower package because I didn't think I'd use 20Gb. The guy says (without any hassle) that he couldn't offer me a lower package but he could offer me the same package for £5/month.

I was quite happy coming from a £6/month 100 mins 1Gb 3G deal, so I thought to myself "that was surprisingly easy" and accepted the offer and finalised details to post the new SIMs (old SIMs weren't 4g capable) to me via Yodel.

Unfortunately I don't have any proof because the tariff doesn't update until my next refresh cycle on the 23rd and the transaction summary emailed to me doesn't actually detail the tariff.

Hope this helps someone!

Btw, this is a 30 day rolling contract, not a 12 or 24 month fixed contract

Only if you're existing? Assuming so to have to get this thru retentions
I pay £13 for this, guess it's time to call retentions
Creacking deal op, i'm going to try for this. Thanks for posting
I'm hoping for something similar from Three next week when my contracts up...
I got my internet/tv bill reduced by £10 then added BT Sport for £5.
Doesn’t mean anyone else will get that deal... Infact they won't.
I pay £10 a month for this...
Fake, obviously Photoshopped... I want blood!

Should've been HOT the first time, you've been a member for 5 years, you'd think that gives you credibility not to be shot down on a forum! Well done OP for bothering to re-post with proof!

Please could people stop messaging me for personal and account details. I'm not going to be giving them out.

Thank you.
I just called up and got a 4G package with 1500 mins, unlimited texts and 2GB of data for £3 a month. I was paying £6 a month for 1GB of data. heat
awesome deal! ive always found virgin are really good for retentions I always get a great tv/ broadband/phone deal from them every year and it's always far cheaper than what bt or sky can offer on new customer deals
Just to add, I've been on an £8/month rolling contract with Virgin for some time now. Again, I got it through retention. It is their unlimited everything(voice, text, data), free 08 numbers, for £8 / month. Only trouble with it is that it's so good, I can never be tempted to break out and so I'm stuck buying phones payg or sim-free 1st world problems!

In summary, give em some stick through retentions, they def want your custom!

I wouldn't hold your breath, Three don't seem to place too much priority on holding on to their customers and their retentions deals are reportedly worse than new customers can get on line (they were for me anyway, and a couple of other posters you can find in the other sim deals posts).
My Three contract finishes next week and I've bought one of the EE4G Max deals for £4.50/m (after jumping through 18 hoola-hoops to get the cash back!) after Three refused to give me any sensible offer. Admittedly, this is a better deal (I only get 7GB data) but I need the tethering which Virgin doesn't allow.

I like Feel At Home though, useful when in Europe (although admittedly that could all go to pot after next week anyway :D)
Super-cheap if you can get it. Unfortunately, only about 0.0001% of the people reading this will

indeed the **** they come out with they say that donr exist it never happened no deals available
How long were you a customer before you asked for this please ?
I'm half way through a virgin retention 12 month contract 1gb of 4g data and loads of minutes I'll never use for £7/month. Must be losing my touch.

Me too. That's why I went with EE as their 4G Max allows you to use calls/data/text througout Europe too. Not so great if you need the other countries but the next best option when the Three deals are so bad.
Hope you have better luck than I did!
would be very interested if anyone has improved on the 20GB £15 deal posted on here a couple of months ago
Excellent deal u got there. Heat for you!!

I was 5 years with them, asking 1GB and 200 minutes for £5 . They refused . I joined Life mobile now Plusnet through u-switch for 1.5 GB and 1000 minutes for £5.95. Good Luck.

Virgin does allow tethering. It just doesn't support it.
Can you give your account details so I can get another line for myself
Very good deal. I pushed them hard but my tariff isn't nearly as good. Think they were prepared to let me leave.

Ha. Guess I was stupid enough not to bother trying but it does say 'tethering and peer to peer file sharing prohibited' in their 'legal stuff' at the bottom of their mobiles page but if they haven't actually made sure that you can't do it then this deal is even better than I thought.
I missed out on the £15 deal for this, really gutted.

They actually wouldn't let me open any new lines on this deal. Was going to get a third number for my number and then a fourth for my dad.
Ridiculous asking for account details

Ignore them OP
Gutsy post' good on you OP proving the doubters wrong!

Great deal
Tried hard but they wouldn't budge. I suppose it comes down to who you speak to
Virgin's pricing is all over the place, and it seems you only get a good deal if you get through to the 'right person'.
