I did the same last year.

11 days of amazement.
2 days in San Fran inc bridge, red fern park, alcaltraz
Then to Lodi for a stop over
Through to Yosemite and stayed in the national Parks for a couple of days, glacia point. Went from 25 degrees to throwing snowballs in a couple of hours.
Down to North LA (6th flags park) and across to Joshua Tree visited the first* McDonalds in San Bernardino
Then North to Vegas across the desert with a brief spell on Route66, through an amazing village with a train depot in that was used in the war for something? Amazing, in the middle of the desert.
4 days in Vegas with visits to the edge of the canyon and Hover Dam.
£35 internal flight back from Vegas to San Fran and back to Manchester.

Amazing break, trip and very affordable.

Very good price but dont forget to add seat reservations min £22 upto £65 for XL o/w
Good deal considering includes 1x 23kg baggage. Otherwise, Norwegian regularly has Gatwick-Oakland at this price for hand baggage only.

Have you actually done any research or have been one of of their converted A330 to the US.

For £150 each way they are amazing, this also includes luggage and food.

It's sad when all you can do is a semi attempt at humour about an airline of which you have zero understanding at all.

Sad times... Don't forget the Jeremy Kyle rerun from this morning will be on ITV2 shortly, so you'll be ok for an hour.

Travel Independant Editor Review

A330-200 (long haul aircraft) - economy cabinThe plane is a wide body, with a 2-4-2 seat configuration. As soon as I boarded I was pleasantly surprised. The cabin was bright and airy and a water bottle was placed on every seat. The 2-4-2 layout is my favoured configuration, because couples get to sit together alone and families can be grouped in the middle of the aircraft. It’s the same layout as the upper deck of BA’s A380 , which I love.

Each seat has an individual headrest mounted entertainment system. The screen was better than most economy seats I’ve experienced - bigger than that offered by BA. There were 4 films and a handful of TV shows to watch for free, but £5 will get you full access to a library of 30 movies. On a 4 hour flight one movie was enough, but a long haul daytime flight may have had me reaching for my debit card.

Yep, first hand experience of US travel with this shower. Never again. You get what you pay for unfortunately.

Absolutely wrong, wrong, wrong. Thomas Cook A330's long haul are very comfortable (I'm 6'3") and the food and drinks are on the same level as BA, whilst beating the US carriers. I would recommend using Thomas Cook to the US and further.

Yeah, this was the most expensive, but I didn't pay that. Stayed away from the centre at Yosemite Westgate Lodge for about £120 a night, after my last Yosemite day, we traveled the hour or so to our next stop before LA which was a very very cheap casino resort hotel (About £40) Chukchansi Gold Resort in Coarsegold, was really nice to be fair. Chilled by the pool in the late afternoon in both locations.

I agree, mainly operated by Condor who are a German company with very high standards.
I have flown Virgin, BA and TC (on the converted huge A330) and the TC will get my vote just ahead of BA anyday. Virgin is miles behind.
Ah i booked in november for 16 nights in May with BA ... cost £788.
Gutted wen you see sales like thiz.
Shame i cant cancel for free and rebook with thomas cook
Booked for May, thanks OP

Derby are doing well though

They are, and if they maintain it, I look forward to seeing them try and beat their world record 11pts in a season - achieved last time they rubbed shoulders with Man Utd, Chelsea, Bournemouth and the rest.

Very, very tempted but I have to check at work to see which days I can book off first before booking this any chance there'll be any sets left tomorrow?
Looked to see if cheaper than what I've already booked with Virgin 25th to 15th, but it's more expensive even two or three days either side. So I'm happy. Paid £370 BTW.

You save a lot of money by staying within shuttle bus distance rather by being right in the middle. It's a bit like staying right on Cat Bells in the Lakes when a cheaper option would be to stay in Keswick and get a bus or walks over to it.

Ill have a look at that, but as I have the car, I could explore on my own instead + my plan was to hit yosemite early via the east entrance (travelling from Lake Tahoe), then have most of the day to make my way through the park towards big trees lodge.

When are you going in June? Are you expecting to go through Yosemite east to west via highway 120? The following link may be helpful because the pass didn't open last year until 26th June due to snow.

nps.gov/yos…htm

I'm going to go from SF to Vegas in late May, do the Grand Circle and then on the way back, drive through death valley and hopefully the pass is open. Going by the link you can tell by April if it will be open due to snowpack %.

Alcatraz, brilliant. If you go, don't even think of giving this a miss.
Oh, White water rafting too. Yeahhhhhhhhhhh.
